Recruiting This Week

More and more recruits are making plans for the month of June as it is set up to be the biggest recruiting month ever. I made a post last week detailing some of those players and the dates that they would be attending, so read that if you have not already.
-One of Clemson's top targets at safety Xavier Nwankpa released his top 7 schools. I have said that OSU leads, and I still believe that to be the case, but Texas A&M and ND have made things much closer. Clemson appears to running 4th and they would need to draw a visit at some point to change the tide.
-One target who has already made plans for other schools is 4* DE Kenyatta Jackson. He has already made official trip plans to Oklahoma and OSU. He plans to make his commitment in July, and since Clemson will not be offering officials it seems right now there is a chance he may not be able to make it before he decides, he could still come on an unofficial visit, and he has not ruled out attending the Elite Retreat. However, there is some good news the OU insider who conducted the interview said that he believes that Clemson would not be out regardless of what the decision in July is. He said if they do visit post Summer it could be "more than a game changer".
-Clemson just recently offered another conerback in 4* Terrance Brooks. He had previously released a top 5. He does not have a date scheduled, but he wants to visit Clemson before he decides. He is very interested in Clemson. Worth noting that his dad played for Texas A&M.
-Speaking of DB, expect 5* CB Daylen Everette to release a top schools list as earlier as this Friday. Clemson, UGA, and UNC lead in the recruitment with FSU in 4th. I have said that Clemson is in the best position, and I still think that they are, but UNC appears to be pushing really hard and project as the toughest competition. I told you all that UNC's CB coach is an absolute beast on the trail. -A top running back for the class of 23" Justice Haynes had made plans to attend Clemson June 1st. Unfortunately, like Brooks, Clemson will have a lot to overcome as Hayden's father played for Georgia, he has also made plans to see Bama.
-One of the top 4 safeties for the class of 23" plans on checking out Clemson June 3rd in Michael Daugherty. I have already highlighted the #1 overall safety in the class Caleb Downs has a very high interest in Clemson, and it would seem Daugherty does as well.
Here are some other names to remember for the class of 23", outside of the ones that I have already mentioned. None of these players hold offers.
-WR Nathaniel Joseph out of Florida. He has stated that Clemson is very interested in him along with ND and FSU. They think that he could play the Amari Rogers position.
-The top OLB for the next class in Drayk Bowen. He says that he talks to Clemson's coaches, along with ND coaches, weekly. He is from Indiana. I would almost pick Clemson right now.
-Top 247 #1 overall CB for the class of 23" Cormani McClain had some interesting things to say about Clemson. He said that if Clemson were to offer they would be in the top 2 schools for him as things stand now, he still wants to get out and visit Clemson this June. FSU and Bama coming really hard here.
-DE Caleb Herring out Tennessee as a high interest in Clemson as well. He said that he wants to see Clemson, Tennessee, and Michigan once things open up in June. Worth noting that I believe his brother plays at Tennessee. Really early with all those guys, but name recognition helps Clemson, and visits opening back would make me think that this class mirrors the 20" class in talent.
I made a post last week of Clemson's perfect class for this cycle and decided to post it here in case you missed it. This is the perfect class, it does not mean that Clemson would land them.
If I put parenthesis that means that I do not know how many Clemson would take at this time
QB:
Cade Klubnik-Commit-4*
RB:
Branson Robinson-4*
WR: (2-3)
Adam Randall-4* Commit
Brenen Thompson-4*
Antonio Williams-4*, Does not have an offer, but if they chose a 3rd I think he would be first on the list.
TE:
Oscar Delp/Jaleel Skinner- Both 4*,I think that they would be happy with either, but may have Delp a little higher.
OL: (2-3) Collin Sadler-4* Commit
Blake Miller-4*Commit
Julian Armella- 4* If they take a 3rd.
DT:
Travis Shaw-5*
Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy-5*
DE:
Jeremiah Alexander-5*, Bama lean
Cryuss Moss 4* OR Shemar Stewart 5*, LSU lean.
CB: I have Clemson taking 3 if they can lead these guys.
Jeadyn Lukus-5*
Daylen Everette-5*
Toriano Pride-4*
S: Perfect world Xavier Nwankpa, but not very likely.
Keon Sabb-5*
LB:
None at this time, but they have reached out to a few. I mentioned Sabb above they may take a Sherrod Covil at safety and take Sabb as a hybrid.
K: Alex McPherson-No offer

If we even have the slightest chance of getting those 3 OL, I'd be disappointed if we didn't find a spot. I'd forego a rb in a heartbeat to get those 3 big boys on campus.
Have to say based on your previous posts and potential leans towards other schools, I get nervous on DT and DE.
Sounds like not taking a LB this cycle wouldn't hurt us as long as we hit in 23... Correct? Asking.
Yep, as always, dynamite post for a weekend of juicy news. Maybe, just maybe we'll get a May surprise. Thanks again.

I honestly do not know what we do at O-line as far as a 3rd spot. Armella has not advanced his recruitment in months and will take visits in the Fall to decide, I have to think if they can get him Clemson finds room.
I would say not to worry about DE right now. Clemson is right there with Bama right now for Alexander and LSU with Stewart. On top of that Clemson most likely is in the top 2 for Moss, leads for DJ Wesolak, leads for Jihaad Campbell, and we will see what happens with Jackson. We will have to see who Clemson likes best out of that group, I like them all, personally would be happy with a class of Moss and Alexander/Campbell/Wesolak any of those three.
As far as DT. Clemson is going to be in two wars in Dindy's and Shaw's recruitment. OU, Texas A&M, and Clemson are the top teams for Dindy. While UNC, UGA, and Clemson are going to fight for Shaw. Remember that recent offer Alex VanSumeren is really high on Clemson, and reminds me of Tyler Davis. Alabama is pushing there so that should tell you the type of player he is. Also Hero Kanu's recruitment is just getting started.
LB recruiting last year was so good with Carter and Trotter that I am not sure Clemson has to take one this cycle, correct.

Thanks for the informative post. Keep them coming. I totally agree with your CB perspective as far as taking 3 and the 3 I hope the Tigers take. Also agree with you and others assessment that the Tigers may not need to take a LB. Hopefully they can keep the current LBs happy and they see plenty of playing time ahead with the extra year of eligibility and no others breathing down their back for 22.

Yeah I agree with everything you said great post. I think that Clemson is looking at a couple of players who could play a hybrid linebacker position, and they have reached out to a couple of linebackers, but as of now nothing definitive.

Dynamite posts by each.
Great point about the LBs. Great thing is the ones we have: Spector, Skalski, Jake V, and even Turner are extremely mature and supportive of the coaches and the future of our program. Long winded way of saying they won't squawk about less minutes since they get it. Huge upside on showing the young guns the ropes.
