The investment the University has made in Coach Swinney financially has been a success. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been made by the University during the past decade because of Coaches' success. The return on investment has been enormous.

At least Jimbo had a natty to his name when A&M brought him over. TF has MT done to get that kind of deal? Just beyond idiotic. He is essentially a career DB's coach. Derrrr, hey guys, lets make him one of he highest paid HC's in the sport! Whomever is responsible for that should not only be fired, but never be allowed to be involved in any contract negotiations again, ever.

Coach Dabo Swinney's agent has one of the best jobs in America. Dabo on camera, off the cuff, is a gold mine. His entire persona and lifestyle is near perfect. He is a can't miss Hall of Fame college football coach with a killer winning percentage, with conference and national titles second to none. Anyone who can read knows his football coaching stats. His player graduation stats and as good as possible. Most people who know or have followed him think he could be a great CEO in almost any field.
Most of us would feel guilty taking the fees Dabo's agent garners. Heck, if Dabo were our 'client' we would likely be better men and give every penny we earned off of Coach Swinney to one of the many of the many charities he favors.
Go Tigers!! We are so lucky and blessed.

Going to be a dark day at Clemson when coach decides enough is enough. We thought Coach Ford’s departure was bad, which it was especially how everything played out, but I think this would be worse.

my freshman year of college about how a successful football program adds value to the school all around and should be emphasized more by those schools who lack investment in football. This was 23 years ago when maybe 1 or 2 coaches made $1M and plenty of schools (us included) sidestepped too much money in sports.
I wish I could find that paper bc it had some pretty detailed info.

In the rest of the workforce, companies try to limit salaries to the lowest amount to keep and attract the required talent. For colleges there is no profit motive but why would they not try to give fans a break? for example, would we risk losing Dabo if he made $9M per instead of $11M? Fans are being squeezed from all directions with no end in sight.
