An Old Farmer's Advice

Apr 21, 2020, 12:45 PM

I had planned to arise early this AM and post a few items of an old farmer's advice, Unfortunately, my biological alarm didn't go off until 10:00 AM so an afternoon post is the best I can do. I would like to claim these bits of wisdom as my own but all of you know I ain't that smart.

Do not corner something you know is meaner than you.

Your fences need to be horse high, hog tight and bull strong.

Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.

You cannot unsay a cruel word.

Live a good, honorable life, Then when you get older and look back, you'll enjoy it a second time.

Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.

Always drink upstream from the herd.

The best sermons are lived, not preached.

Sometimes you get and sometimes you get got.

Letting the cat out of the bag is a lot easier than putting it back in.

Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly. Leave the rest to fate.

Not just a bumble bee but hornets, yellow jackets and wasp. Skeeters too.

Great words of wisdom as always. BTW those angry stinging/biting critters can outrun Kubotas too!

Good stuff Joe.

I had an old man tell me about 20 years ago that he was too scared to fight and too old to run so he’s just gonna shoot em.

BTW you can build a fence horse high, hog tight and bull strong but a dang goat will still find a way to get out of it if they want to??

Karen is NOT going to like this.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.
