Super Conference Promotion and Relegation

Mentioned it in the last round of realignment. The 2 super conferences are a perfect opportunity to implement it in college football.

Merge the Pac and Big 12
Fox/ESPN Keep the existing TV contracts (100M to SEC/B1G teams; 40M to others)

SEC/ACC form one division with the top and bottom 3 teams being promoted/relegated

B1G/Pac follow the same format

Clemson spends 1 year in the ACC before moving up and the SCAR/MSST/Vandy's of the world make their way to the bottom.

An idea is that lower tier bowls become relegation games

I dont know about that series of events...but with creating the haves and have nots, I think this IS the perfect time to start using tiers that are so popular with soccer, and indeed have promotion and relegation as a part of it. It is crazy to think that 100 some odd schools are all able to compete with each other with various sizes, academic restrictions and conference rules. Make the seasons more meaningful for the schools looking to promote (and those preparing to relegate).
