Non-fiction: David vs. Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell, but in a good way.
Fiction: One Second After, which I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, about an EMP attack over America that knocks us back a century in tech. The author made it sound frighteningly feasible and very bleak.
A close second: 1984, and yep, I actually read it.

Math 1070-Differential and integral calculus.

and one thing I can't stand in a book is when the author makes it all about them.
I'm 3 chapters in and the dude has barely talked about the actual cases.
