I see a lot of folks down on Ladson

Oct 18, 2020, 11:48 PM

To be honest I still have seen a lot more from him than Ngata after 1+ seasons. He had had a few critical drops, but I recall Mike William's not having the best hands his first year as well. Yeah, Ladson is a sophomore but he was not a starter last year with Tee and Ross. I think he will be fine. Coaches will coach him up and I think he will improve. Kid has tremendous upside. Speaking of upside, I rally cant wait to see Ajou in about 2 years with WR coaching and strength and conditioning. Kid has a great frame and is still learning the game. Williams is coming along nicely as well. I look forward to seeing all these guys develop.

Amen ... Rice dropped his share of Montana passes ...

Oct 18, 2020, 11:56 PM

.... in his Year 1 with 49ers. Then he evolved into the NFL WR GOAT. And Ladson is fortunate to have TL 16 and DJ-U just as Rice was fortunate to have Montana & Young. He will improve with Ngata, EJ Williams, Ajou coming on and J. Ross potentially playing again. Or we will not see much of him. But coaches know he can do it or he would be on the bench ...

You're right. Some fans lack patience. I'm glad our coaches aren't that way.

Ladson will be great. He just needs time.

I'm not concerned about it at all

Ladson will be fine.

Ladson’s drops have come in situation where he was wide open, just catch 1st then turn on the jets but he took his eye off the ball because he was concerned with how he was going to get in the end zone or more yards.

Then he comes back and makes difficult catches, he’s going to be fine. I love it when a guy wants to take it to the house every time. Dabo is coaching him up to secure catch 1st then go.

Ngata I going to be very special, looking for him to get well, put it all together! Grisham will get the boys going on th outside. I love the fact we have established the middle of the field. We will expose ND on the edges when they least expect it.

ND is already looking forward to us and game planning. Won’t help.

Ngata was the better WR last season by far between the two, had he not got hurt he’d be fine.

Dabo says Ngata is the man, I totally trust him because he sees practice & has always been dead on about WR’s.

I’m sure he’ll get it together. What I love it how open he’s been getting.

And, remember, he will be a sophomore next year.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ladson is going to be a star at Clemson...

Oct 19, 2020, 7:54 AM

Right now, the chief complaint is that his drops (and he seems to have at least one or two every game) have occurred when he was wide a$$ open for what would have effectively been walk-in TD's.

He'll be fine.

I think Frank will get there. Sure hope so. Think he can

Oct 19, 2020, 7:59 AM

stretch the field for us, which we will need in the big games.

What I see is people who know he can catch the football but

Oct 19, 2020, 8:10 AM

is too amped to simply catch the ball. He wants to turn and run before he makes the catch, his eyes turn upfield.

I trust coaches as well, Ladson just needs to make a spectacular diving catch and gain the confidence that we all know he has..... then he can simply focus on the catch and then make a move??

Coach says Ngata is the breakout star but like you guys I’ve seen Ladson get open for TL many times. He will get there, my worry is that

There are plenty of blowhard critics on here. Ladson drops

Oct 19, 2020, 8:46 AM

a pass and all of a sudden he can't catch anything and he's on the #### list. Lyn-J Dixon doesn't run in a straight line and bulldoze over everybody, and he's got "happy feet" and in spite of having the 2nd highest yds per carry in Clemson history, he's about to lose his job. Yes, competition is a good thing, and if you don't perform, we're loaded and there's somebody breathing down your neck. But thank God our coaches realize one or two mistakes, or an amateur interpretation gleaned from a sanpshot in time doesn't doom a kid's career.

Right now he reminds me of Deon Cain*

Oct 19, 2020, 8:55 AM

*On the field... I know Cain had off-field issues.

Fair comparision. We could see Cain's potential early on, but he did miss on catchable passes at times.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ladson didnt drop another one

Oct 19, 2020, 8:57 AM

all year

Best Is The Standard

He just has to learn the same fundamental thing that Mikey

Oct 19, 2020, 9:23 AM

did after his freshman year. Concentrate on completing the act of catching the ball, BEFORE doing anything else. On most of his drops, it appears he was already moving on to the next thing prior to securing the catch. He will improve.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Right. Higgins and Ross both had drops early on.

Oct 19, 2020, 9:28 AM

It happens. People need to chill.
