"Almost brawl" at end of Texas Vs Texas A&M baseball game

Mar 18, 2016, 10:56 AM

Walk off homer by A&M and then there was a what looked to be a "my ##### is bigger than yours" contest between the players of the 2 teams. A&M crowd started chanting SEC SEC SEC SEC. Instead of cheering for their team that just won the game, they chose to cheer their conference?

Upper decks? Wow

That is a bad ### stadium. I feel embarrassed for their fans. What a ###### thing to do. Why wouldn't they chant something that has to do with their school? That was just embarrassing.

maybe we should start

Mar 18, 2016, 11:12 AM

chanting ACC ACC ACC since we're 4-0 in tourney. those idiots. will never understand why anyone would root for a team in their conference if you personally can't stand that team. for example, i want nc state to lose in every sport to every team. except usuck of course

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

Those Aggie fans are sadly cootish in color and behavior. Sad because they seemed decent before when we had the home and home with them in football.

Having left Tejas high and dry for the SEC

I believe this is one of those times the chant is appropriate.

There is never a time when a conference chant is appropriate. Pull for your school period.

Without the SEC, A&M would still be

Mar 18, 2016, 11:22 AM [ in reply to Re: Having left Tejas high and dry for the SEC ]

Texas' *****. Rubbing Texas' nose in it makes the chant very appropriate.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It really isn't just the Coots who do that ########...

Mar 18, 2016, 11:45 AM

It's becoming archaic and kind of pathetic when you're "Team SEC's" only accomplishment of note is riding off of Bama's 1 Championship in football in the last 3 years.

Literally that's been the entire conference's accomplishment of note in the last 4 years or so in ANY sport.

Well....

Mar 18, 2016, 11:57 AM

far be it form me to defend the $EC but, Kentucky did win a national championship in basketball in 2012, Florida won national titles in gymnastics in 2013, 2014, and 2015, Florida and Arkansas won national titles in men's indoor track in 2012 and 2013 (respectively), Arky won the women's indoor track title in 2015, Georgia won a national title in swimming and diving in 2013 and 2014, Vandy won a baseball title in 2014, Florida won championships in softball in 2014 and 2015, A&M and Florida split a title in men's outdoor track in 2013, A&M won a title in wimmins outdoor track in 2014, Vandy won the wimmins tennis title in 2014, Bama and LSU won men's golf titles in 2013, 2014, and 2015 (respectively), Bama won the wimmins golf title in 2014, and Auburn, Georgia and $CU won horse ridin' championships in 2013, 2014 and 2015 (respectively). Granted, most of them have been in sports that no one really cares about but the league has won its share of national championships.

Point for the research. Forgot about Vandy's bball title.

Mar 18, 2016, 1:58 PM

Outside of that and UK's bball title (and let's be honest A) you cannot tell me the SEC was even remotely good in bball because UK won the title that year and B) that title will be vacated at some point down the road after Calipari bolts and the NCAA comes sniffing around) the SEC is no more dominant than any other conference...

And just to play devil's advocate, "Team ACC" since 2011 has won:

- 2011 Women's Field Hockey (Maryland)
- 2013 Football MNC (FSU)
- 2011, 2013, 2014 Men's Soccer (UNC, ND, UVA)
- 2012, 2014 Women's Soccer (UNC, FSU)
- 2015 Men's BBall (Duke)
- 2012 Men's Ice Hockey (BC)
- 2015 Baseball (UVA)
- 2014 Women's Golf (Duke)
- 2011, 2013, 2014 Men's Lacrosse (UVA, Duke, Duke)
- 2013, 2014 Women's Lacrosse (UNC, Maryland)
- 2012 Women's Rowing (UVA)
- 2013, 2015 Men's Tennis (UVA)

Aaaaand since Clemson isn't listed here at all, I could not care less...

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Chanting SEC here is telling Texas, "Good riddance, we left

Mar 18, 2016, 12:22 PM

your sorry tails behind."

It's not the same as Coots doing it.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

And, I just lost respect for A&M fans.

Mar 18, 2016, 12:28 PM

"SEC!"? Really?

A&M has such ridiculous little brother syndrome

Mar 18, 2016, 1:16 PM

they build all these massive stadiums and have all this money and what have they accomplished? Their accomplishments can't compare to Texas in any sport (except for their track and field shared national title).

A&M has the worst little brother syndrome of any fan base. NC State is a close second.
