DJ to come off the bench Saturday. That’s all I ask. Let Pitt prepare for DJ and show them TP. Can’t hurt because you are likely going to be taken to the woodshed anyway. Pitt is a very good team. They are a team who CAN and Has beaten the Tigers.

Lawrence threw for 400 yards last year. DJ will likely throw for less than 100!

Tigers wore all purple in last years game. I’d like to see them do that again Saturday on the road.

Hope the good guys play at a slower pace.

He plays much better when he knows he's not the guy.

Said it himself.

I do understand in general the "it can't hurt to try TP because we can't be worse", but if you take a look at TP's turnovers per game played in his career it's not a pretty number. It worse if you look at plays on the field per turnover as most of his appearances are very short.

Even if it's only 1 series, giving Pitt 3 or 7 extra points from a turnover could literally lose it for us since we can only score 14-21 points per game.

My hopes are slim that we can slow down Pitt's offense enough to stay in the game, but turnovers by the offense will completely remove the slim option and switch it to none.

You are right about the turnovers. That is a plus for the Tigers. They rarely turn the ball over. At that DJ does a respectable job. If his guy can’t catch it, no one will! He throws a lot of balls that you need to buy a ticket to catch!!!!
Coaches used to say ..” he throws a catchable ball ” but you don’t hear that much anymore. DJ doesn’t do that.

I agree with you however we also seem to be seeing a major increase in what I would call "he dropped a catchable ball" this season.

For example the announcers and many social media fans blasted DJ for throwing the ball behind Ross on the play where Ross was injured.

I saw it as DJ placed the ball to allow Ross to sit down and catch it in the soft spot in the zone. Had Ross made the catch he still had plenty of space around him to make a run after the catch and maybe even get into the end zone.
