Why are we so down on Streeter as OC?
Dec 14, 2021, 4:26 PM

Is it because he was an "internal" hire? If so, why TF does that matter? Guy is the son of a coach, played the game, has been an OC before, has been at Clemson for 2 natty's, built up a pretty good resume IMO.
Not saying he is going to be the best OC in the land next year, but give the guy a damm chance. Jeesh.

It's smart to run those 3 or 4 times a game.

Outside of Alabama, name an offense that has consistently performed against real tough defenses better than ours (this year aside because of all the injuries and DJ getting the yips)

We had a problem at the QB position.

We didn't have one who could do what needed to be done. We needed a Tajh Boyd, someone who was so strong and sure footed that he'd tear through a defender trying to sak him then scramble around to find a receiver without tripping over his own feet. Someone who could manage with a depleted and weak offensive line is what we needed. Someone who could go to his second receiver after spending five seconds staring straight at his primary receiver.
You can't make chicken salad out of chicken manure no matter how much pickles and mayo you stir in and no matter who is doing the stirring.
We'll see about Brandon when he has something to work with.

the dude is one tough sombish. As a young man he got the snot beat out of him every game and bounced back up to say bring it. I have no idea how he will do as a coordinator. Good for him and I wish him the best of luck.

We’ll see. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. But let’s not all pretend like going and getting Joe Brady or some other proven outside guy to bring something fresh is some outlandish desire for those of us who want to see our team winning natties.

We all hope the internal hires for OC and co-DC prove to be great choices.
Clemson under Dabo is an elite program, so he has the equity to make these hires.
However, if “best is the standard,” I’m hoping my skepticism is replaced with a big ### plate of crow.

But I will say his previous game as OC was the booty blastin from OSU.
I will be very interested to see what changes. Does he adjust the offense to fit his guy’s skillset…mainly, don’t let the QB be the focal point? Cause TE had a hard time with that.
