Surprised the prime time TV selection committee passed on this game.

Bama at night in Austin ?? That would have been gold.

FOX has first shot at BIG12 home games and they like to play their top game at noon, hence big noon kickoff. I kind of like it so don't have to wait all day.

Texas has the same chances of winning as Icelandic banks had of avoiding financial ruin in 2008.

Texas is 1-7 in their OOC openers since 2014 or so. (None counted in 2020)

That include BEATDOWNS by Maryland, BYU, UCLA, Cal, and Arky. Thank goodness for UTEP or they would not have won anything before their conference started.

Only win was against a top 10 (finished 4-8) Notre Dame but then followed it up with a lost to Cal (5-7_

At least Bama has opened with major opponents at neutral sites (mostly Atlanta and Arlington TX) like Clemson, Michigan and Wisconsin most years during the Saban era. Gotta give them credit for that at least.

Florida is the worst when it comes to leaving their state to play an OOC P5 team. Once or twice in the past decade plus. They finally get one next yr at Utah.
