Why Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats talked to Ray Lewis after Darius Miles' arrest
Alabama basketball's Nate Oats said Ray Lewis was among people he has spoken with after former UA player Darius Miles was charged with capital murder.


I find it shocking Nate Oats thought this was good idea to consult with Ray Lewis and even more astounding that he thought it was a good idea to disclose it publicly.

Will he call OJ for advice next?

The article states the reason why he called him. And Lewis gave him some very good advice about sharing scripture to help the grieving teammates. My guess is he also provided some insight on what was going through his head for him to escalate to that extreme. Perhaps he learned a thing or two from that experience 23 years ago.

Yes I read the article. I still think is shows poor judgment. I'd think he could have gotten advice about sharing scripture (if not thought of it himself) from someone more appropriate. And even if you did think it was a good idea to talk to Ray Lewis, I think I would have kept the information to myself and not shared publicly. Not a good look in my opinion to say this is who I seek advice from.

I am sure he was trying to be helpful, but not a wise move in my view.
