are just pure evil. They are anti-small business. They are anti-capitalism. Pro late term abortion. They stand for every single thing I hate. After this last “mandate”….If you are with The Biden Admin, you are against me. It’s that simple.
I really do not care what you think or how you feel. Like the Trump flags said “#### your feelings”

Getting vaccinated is the responsible thing to do. Don’t like it? Get tested every week then, I guess.

I am all in on the government pushing mandates, hell they do it for other things all the time. You don't wanna get the vax - deal with the consequences.

"No vax, pay your own consequences." We should be done with social restrictions, and companies can and should mandate vax. The FAA can require vax to fly, ditch the masks. Etc. I might not agree with a govt actually requiring a vax as a matter of law, but I'm with you on the basic deal. I would go along with no medicare covid treatment for unvaxxed (obviously with exceptions)
BTW, if we did that last one, whatcha bet the hospitals' categorizing of patients changes pronto?

I am and have been pro vaccine from the beginning. However, I think this latest move of using OSHA to force private companies with more than a hundred employees to be vaccinated will backfire and ultimately be struck down in the courts.
I think resistance will now be greater than ever. The vaccine cards are very easy to fake.
Additionally what does this mandate say about those who have had COVID and have natural immunity? Is Biden trying to force people who have actually had COVID to be vaccinated? If we're following the science, the subject of natural immunity vs the immunity conferred by the vaccine has conflicting data.
The science on a 3rd shot is not solid at this point at all. I will get it, but will a 3rd shot also be mandated or simply offered to boost immunity? How is this different from someone with natural immunity declining to take the vaccine?
Medical care isn't declined to those with tobacco and alcohol related issues, gangbangers who get shot, those driving too fast, motorcyclists driving without a helmet, etc.. Nor should it be denied to the non vaccinated no matter how frustrating it is to have our hospitals over run.
Medical bills always get paid. If surcharges are added to the non vaccinated which could make their insurance not affordable or the insurance carrier were to drop them outright, these individuals would join the so called "self pay" group which would mean we pay. The bills get paid.
I just don't see how forcing private companies to carry out this vaccine mandate is going to do anything but increase resentment and avoidance of a vaccine I wish folks would take.
Lastly, this is not a pandemic of the unvaccinated, but a pandemic of the non immune as espoused by Dr Marty Makary of Johns Hopkins Medical School. Those who have had COVID probably would benefit from one shot?, but if this mandate does not address the issue of those who have had COVID, is that reasonable?

I agree, if we are following the science, then the requirement to vaccinate people who have had COVID is unjustified, as is the logic to recommend a booster across the board for everyone who is fully vaccinated.
I also agree that faking vaccine cards will be super easy. If proof of vaccination is going to be required, there must be a better way to verify who has actually been vaccinated and who has not. Hopefully good vaccination records have been kept so that something like that can be implemented.

the hospital. There is no way she is getting a booster and I don't blame her. I still got vaccinated the first day I could which was a couple months after her, but she could have died if I wasn't there to call 911 5 or 6 hours after her shot.

Biden is much like Major General Garrison in Mogadishu when the Black Hawk was shot down--"We just lost the initiative." He lost the initiative months ago on COVID although I don't think this is his fault.
Getting more people to choose the vaccine will need to be more of a person to person, doctor to patient effort. It's not working from the top down approach and having a speech to mandate the vaccine for the 4 million Federal employees when 80 million people are unvaccinated and I suspect the majority of the Federal employees are already vaccinated, is just more theater that will harden the resistance for others to choose the vaccine.
Biden needs to say less and Surgeon General Murthy more. Murthy is soft spoken and isn't a scold.

HAHAHAHA this is your takeway? Top down doesn't work? What do you think the last 9 months have been? It's been coddling your spoiled, anti-vaxx a**es up and down the street. Offering to PAY you to even take it.....but noooooooo don't tread on me!!
Well ya know what, we need a strong President who will tell y'all to shut the f*** up and take it or get out. We are tired of sparing your feelings and paying for your medical bills and go fund mes.

Take a chill pill #### weed. I was fully vaccinated in early February, still volunteer as a physician in a vaccine and testing clinic, will get the 3rd shot and encourage everyone to strongly consider the vaccine.
My point is and I said it wasn't Biden's fault, is that he has lost the initiative in promoting the vaccine. I think this mandate which is actually more extensive than I thought will only harden the resistance to take the vaccine.
Responses like yours surely wouldn't encourage anyone to take it.

Fair point and i misread your initial post and i apologise for that.
That being said, I still don't care what they think. They have put themselves in this position. We have done everything in our power to get them to a point of doing it. Even Daddy Trump is telling them too. And they still won't. So screw em.
Take it or get out.

I hear you and fully appreciate your frustration. I just think some aspects of this mandate are government over reach and will backfire. It's not just hardcore Trump supporters who are vaccine resistant. Many in the Hispanic and African American community remain resistant.
I read an article in the NY Times today that likewise expresses my concern that the mandate may end up hurting the painful process of getting folks to take the shot.
I will agree when Trump got booed in Alabama when he encouraged folks to take the vaccine, we are in trouble.

It's also interesting that the mandate does not apply to Congress or their staffers which are certainly part of the Federal government. I suspect the overwhelmingly vast majority of Congress is vaccinated, but why doesn't the mandate include the 435 House and 100 Senate members who sit in close quarters spewing hot air on a daily basis?
Psaki confirms the mandate does not apply to the migrants crashing the border too. She couldn't explain the why of that, maybe Biden will give it a stab at his next appearance?

Another case of the ends justifying the means. If this mandate were felt by the Biden Administration to be constitutional would there be a need for a work around? No. Same BS with the CDC getting involved with rental properties.
I know it WOULD be good if we had more immunity in our country, both natural, vaccine related and probably a 1 shot dose for those with natural immunity. However, to cede more authority to the executive branch is more dangerous in my opinion than forcing the vaccine.
Biden keeps saying he doesn't have the authority to do something and then does it. He needs a get back coach. Hopefully the SCOTUS is willing to function in that role.
