...there are so many comments about this lately. It's not word salad nor being disingenuous. He does not like the portal. Clearly doesn't agree with the simple free agency model the portal affords kids who made a commitment to his program (and he made to them). Hoped he never had to go there. But, he obviously knows it will have to happen eventually. He's simply trying to stave it off as long as possible within his program that he built by recruiting and developing within. And it is without doubt HIS program at this point. He's earned the respect and trust of our fan base and will do whatever is necessary when push comes to shove. Just my opinion and I respect his stance on this.

His insistence on doing things with integrity and commitment to the highest standards is the reason we became a top tier program. But I am not sure his past position on the portal is sustainable and he recently acknowledged that the looking at the portal might be necessary at some point. He’s gonna do the right thing
