I think that article is a bunch of BS.

This has been a good excuse for underachieving programs to have a bogeyman.

When the playoffs expand and most of the games are blowouts and the same teams are continuously winning what is the excuse going to be then?

Clemson rose to prominence in the age of the BCS and the playoffs. If little ol’ Clemson can do it anyone can do it, right?

"there are a handful of schools that have the upper hand on everybody due to budget, brand and recruiting base." What a load of BS.

Literally every PAC 12, Big 10 and SEC school received more money than Clemson from their conference payouts. Colorado, Rutgers and Vanderbilt received more money than Clemson.

Our "recruiting base" is the same as every $EC school. No advantage there!

Our brand is what it is. 10 years ago, nobody cared about our brand except us. But winning changes everything. Because we are winning, we're able to go get 5* kids out of California.

I have been posting for years

That money is overrated. Once you reach a certain level of wealth anything after that you waste. I actually think there’s a middle ground that makes people be smarter and work harder because they realize they need to spend their money effectively and not just throw money away.

If money won championships Texas, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, etc. would dominate the top 10 and win every national championship.

Alabama always has talent and always has money. They only dominate when they have great coaching. Another thing I have been saying for years. Coaching is the most important factor everything else flows from that. Proof of that is there are only five active coaches that have won a national championship. And one of them is coaching in the NFL.

Notice the UGA bias in this article?

Aug 18, 2021, 3:07 PM

“ Who are those six schools? Clemson and Alabama have six CFP appearances each. Ohio State and Oklahoma have four each. Notre Dame has two, and Georgia is one of the six schools with one appearance. ”

Why not name LSU instead? You know, the only one of the six that has actually won the championship? What about Oregon? They lost in the championship game, just like UGA did. But the media just keep giving UGA preferential treatment, trying to slip them in at the same elite level as Bama, Clemson, and OSU.
