What will happen with Monte after this season?

Will Neff let him go and hire a fresh face that will give us hope, or write another letter and accept another year+ of baseball mediocrity.

As Follows: " We all want our baseball team to be better and the on the field product has not lived up to any of our expectations including Coach Lee. However, the morale of the team and the off field success is a credit to Coach Lee. He understands what is expected of him and we will make sure he gets the support he needs to get our team back at the top which is where Clemson has traditionally been in baseball."
Signed ... AD Neff
Lee will not be let go, but he should be. Go ahead and tune out on baseball for the next 5 years.... watch softball instead.

The Tigers will barely make the ACC Tournament, but lose their pool. Be on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament, but miss out.
Monte will fire See to save his butt and we will get another letter explaining how seriously Clemson takes baseball and will do whatever it takes for the program to succeed…blah, blah, blah.

This is what happens monte and staff and team goes on a tear and people excited or contract extension or team tanks and changes won’t be made most likely. Here is the recap. 14-0 was against weak teams. They look ahead too much. They beat teams they shouldn’t and get on a streak feeling good then think oh we got this series or game. Just like that lose to Pitt or a lville that I’m still not impressed on. 1-5 can absolutely hit. Hawkins, grice and whoever else can’t. But Hawkins and grice stay in the game always no matter! Then you get into what will likely happen again this year. Transfers bc monte has favorites and guys can’t get a chance because of this. Also fed up because I know for fact from a fellow legion coach they don’t develop. Former coach with monte told fellow coach this they are friends. Also heard from A player on teams dad and on favorites. Other thing is guy at Campbell is throwing 96-98 mph tonight a mid week guy vs ecu and other teams have guys going deep in games. We can’t get a guy throwing much over high 80’s a few can throw low 90’s but every team I’ve seen us play has multiple guys lasting long and throwing 90’s and clemson only has a few. We also even in leggett days had too prospects commit but they go pro. Teams of vandy and Florida for example have this too but also many chose to play college instead of pro. We might have two high prospects and they go play pro. Others have about ten high prospects and half go pro. So that means we get guys who have lander arms. No knock on lander but huge difference. No one cares here much anymore and it shows at games and we got call from iptay and asked if knew anyone needing season tickets. Also monte is a stats guy saying if we score or average blank runs a game we have a shot, he preaches launch angles or the bat and exit velocity off the bat. Teams who win consistently are mostly old school coaches and play the game simple. Not relying on hrs they put the ball in play and move runners when the balls aren’t flying. I believe clemson is leading or close to it the nation in strike outs. As grice too. What a record. Here is one more thing why in athletics and iptay they not hire people inside the family if they want clemson to be family? No care anymore and it hurts. Numerous stories from friends and people I’ve encountered. Only care from iptay and athletics is big donors it’s all about money. Electronic tickets make it easy for example as well. Me and others have had problems and at few different sporting events I’ve been to this year some scanners stopped working. Some say the scanner they have only works for student tickets. No signage or any saying student line only especially softball when you’re already lined up to get in and at the attendant. Wanna save money bc printing costs too much. Gimme a break like you don’t have money and already charge us tons to be apart. But yet can go to the gate a get a hard ticket at the box office. What is give to get the little Ol clemson back and the people who care and we’re family and alumni and the donors were the same as the young alumni. It’s all about money and suites and clubs now. Why pay an extra chunk to be that much closer at a game just to have someone serve me coke and ballpark food?

Sir, Yes Sir. You are spot on my man. I’m old enough to remember when we fired a HOF coach because he wouldn’t fire his pitching coach. How’s the new pitching coach working out? For that matter how about the next Ray Tanner, how’s he doing. I’ve been watching the Tennessee team a lot this year and it makes me yearn for the day when we put constant pressure on the opponents defense, how our players played confident but not cocky, how our coach was involved on every pitch and how the Doug was packed with excitement every weekend. I’ve had 4 season tickets for 30 years and unless something changes, it’ll be my last. Oh how I miss CLEMSON BASEBALL.

Wife & I now live in Garden City Beach, SC. We went to see the Tigers play CCU yesterday in Conway. Beautiful campus. Beautiful baseball park. We arrived early. Box office rep told all reserved tickets were sold. SRO was all they left so we left and didn’t stay. So glad we left! Something has to change but I’m not at all confident our new AD can make the tough decision with baseball and basketball.

He’ll be along for the ride with BB, waiting for the next season to start. Easy money with NO accountability for results.

I am afraid Monte is gone after this season. Clemson baseball and basketball are struggling. The notion that the Tigers are far ahead of USC in the overall sports program is a myth, and it's time to acknowledge the fact. Clemson baseball tradition is strong, but the last two years have severely damaged the brand. No time to wait. Someone with a strong history and sense of tradition is needed. Sorry, Monte, but time to graciously exit.

The notion that the Tigers are far ahead of USC in the overall sports program is a myth? Keep dreaming, coot. Even though we had down seasons in football, basketball, and baseball, we still managed to beat y'all in all 3 of those sports.

I really thought the strikeouts would improve this year. WRONG. I'm beginning to think he can only coach one way. Launch angel and swinging for the fences may work if you have the talent. The talent to play this way is not there so you have to adjust. Not sure if he can.

We hope both if not one is gone. What changes were made after last season? What has he or staff done differently? Here is the thing we will get in acc and maybe regional. Everyone or most will praise and say we’re back. Reality we aren’t. Also a letter from neff. One college site has us in Knoxville with us as a three and wofford a two and deleware state at four. Why I’d love a regional and strong finish but also I don’t wanna get embarrassed and changes should be made especially if we don’t get in either tournament.

According to the past, he will be given a huge raise and extended for another five years.
