Nixon ran a burgerlary ring out of the oval office, and there was actual evidence to prove it.

Everything in that article is speculation with regard to white house involvement.

federal government and Connolly's pathetic line of questioning. His interest in getting to the heart of the matter is exactly zero. What a lap dog.

In business for 20 years with no visits from any federal agency, then she starts a Tea Party group and gets audited twice, visited by the FBI 6 times, gets an OSHA audit with $20,000 in fines and the ATF (ATF!?!) comes twice.

This administration has no shame. Its supporters should be ashamed and embarrassed.

Our Chicago Prtesident. Par for the course from a

Feb 6, 2014, 5:30 PM

"community organizer" from Chicago. This is how democrats work. And it is worse than anything Nixon did because this stuff is not being done by some thugs lurking in the political shadows, it's being done by federal institutions under control of the Executive branch, in the open, and with impunity and without consequences.

We need a tea party/libertarian to get us out of this mess. The most liberal GOP candidate will not do. Just think back to Ronald Reagan for a second, if you were old enough to remember. Ronald Reagan would be a RWN today, and completely out of the graces of the GOP.

If the dems can run the House with Nancy Pelosi, and the White House with Obama, then surely Ted Cruz can run the Senate and Ron Paul and run the White House. Our laws and our rule of law is coming unraveled at the federal level. Enforce hypersensitive EPA rules, ignore illegal imigration. Ignore marijuana laws. Rewrite Obamacare. Selectively enforce charity laws with the IRS. This is how governments topple.

And on Obamacare....whoah. Everyone is complaining that Obama is rewriting the law and that's beyond his constitutional powers. They're right on a few points - mainly the deadlines, but the problem is MUCH worse. The vast majority of the crap that has been screwed up with the implementation of Obamacare WAS done by the administration through the secretary of HHS. But Congress, run by the dems at the time, wrote the law as open-ended as possible to ALLOW Obama unprecedented leeway in implementing it. When Congress leaves several thousand things to the discretion of the HHS secretary, they CAN rewrite the law. From a Constitutional standpoint, the deadlines ignored and changed by Obama were the only real violations. All the other crap is simply our Congress writing an unconstitutional law simply by giving as much leeway as they did. It handed over incredible powers from Congress to the Executive in that one law. Powers that should be reserved for Congress. It's like avoiding the process of mission creep altogether and injecting mission creep directly into the law on passage.

Re: After starting a tea party group

Your unstated premise is that Barry directed the IRS to go after Tea Partiers. Is that your assertion?

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.

excuse me for actually putting in a full day of work.

despite months of senate hearings, there has not been one shred of evidence that even suggests the WH had any involvement in auditing Tea party groups, maybe you are confusing this administration with the Nixon administration..

And of course leaving out the obvious, that these tea party groups have been falsely filing as non profits when they are in fact political entities handling campaign funds and not paying taxes. So excuse the mean IRS for going after the most obvious culprits who are cheating our tax code.

continue with your fake outrage circle jerk.

”We believe that Rep. Cummings misrepresented his authority as Member of Congress to intimidate me and others associated with me, and which may be responsible for a series of incursions into my personal, organizational and business affairs by various federal agencies, agents and bureaucracies over the past four years,” read Engelbrecht’s official complaint to the Office of Congressional Ethics.

Even some Republicans came to Cummings’s defense and said perhaps the group was going too far in the accusations.

Subcommittee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) encouraged the group to drop the complaint.

“I don’t think the ranking member was attacked, but I instructed our staff to encourage [the group] not to proceed with the ethics complaint,” he said.

Feels like misdirection. This is all very simple...

Feb 7, 2014, 11:59 AM

The accusation is this:

20 years of doing business with NO visits from OSHA, FBI, ATF or the IRS. After registering her organization, NUMEROUS visits from ALL of these organizations and heavy fines from OSHA.

Each group should be brought in front of Congress and asked what prompted the actions. If they go up a chain, go up that chain. If they can show why they would do the things they did...if OSHA can show how the $20,000+ in fines is not just their right by their policies but in fact has a precedent, then maybe they can walk. If they can't...everyone involved should be fired and criminal charges should be brought on them. The President should explain to all Americans how he will seek to restore confidence in our federal government and how he was not involved at all. If he was involved in the least, he should be impeached.

Re: Feels like misdirection. This is all very simple...

Feb 7, 2014, 12:42 PM

like we had confidence in the federal government prior to this administration? People have been screwed by the fed for decades. My only argument is that there is not one shred of evidence that this administration has ordered the IRS to do anything of the sort. That would be a felony and an impeachable offense, -see Nixon.

I'm not sure what you mean. Substantiating the facts behind

Feb 7, 2014, 5:32 PM

her allegation should take 15 minutes. Just find out from those agencies (OSHA, FBI, ATF, IRS) if they have ever been involved in her company in the 20 years prior to her filing her Tea Party group. Then confirm what their activity has been with respect to her company after the filing. Seriously, that's about a 15 minute exercise.

Once that's been established (obviously if she made up the facts, this is a complete waste of time), then you go back to my plan. Find out what prompted the agencies to take those actions, follow all paper, money and influence trails and see if it is being motivated by politics or by the function of that group. If it's politics, fire everyone involved...maybe bring criminal charges. If any of this goes back to the Administration, Obama should be impeached.

Feb 7, 2014, 9:31 PM

plenty of people in the house and senate that would love to impeach the POTUS, if there was one shed of evidence of any of the recent fake scandals, it would have happened a long time ago.
