After rewatching the Tarhole game, although the defense

came up big when they had to, MAN we missed a lot of tackles in that game. Play after play where we had angles, should have stopped them for little or no gain, and they slip away and gain 5 extra yards and a first down.

And the false starts on offense STILL are head scratchers. It's usually been the other team doing that, not us.

But, all that looks MUCH better with a W beside the score. We got taken to school, but ultimately passed the test, and got the course credit. :)

Tackling has probably been our worst aspect on defense this season. This isn't to say that it has been terrible but it hasn't been clean.

It hasn't really shown up too bad at this point because we often have multiple people getting to the ball carrier.

I have felt though that the first guy to the ball has not been as successful in getting him down as we have been in years past.

I'm not sure the reason for this, but I hope it gets improved before we face a team who can make us tackle one on one in space.

Watched to game multiple times. Our linebackers had a poor game. Poor run support, taking bad angles, getting totally taken out of plays by linemen. One good sack and the two point defense. Our offensive linemen had a poor game. Multiple false starts by the left of line, one on the right. Pass protection had the running back blocking while a lineman either double teamed or blocked no one. I thought Trevor played well and the running backs ran hard but didn't always follow the blocking. I was surprised how well we did when we pulled the guard on running plays. I think using an H-back is a waste. Couldn't block for the run and couldn't get open on pass plays. Did have a couple of pass dump plays that went for yardage. The tight end did well on run plays. I think the D-line held their own but didn't provide much of a pass rush, and the D-backs did well minus a couple of plays. Thank goodness Howell threw such inaccurate passes. We were definitely fortunate to come out with a W.
