Study" gave him the clue to make this happen. I can't remember specific play but also remember dw4 checking on a play Bc he recognized defensive play and took advantage of it by throwing to a secondary receiver scoring a td. That's good stuff and shows how important prep is . . .

I didn't realize he was an English major. He did an awesome job painting the picture of the play. He's got a future as a sports writer if this football thing doesn't work out long-term.

Great writing, Adrian! I remember the play well as I, like you, was starting to have flashbacks of the previous Death Valley game with those guys. Your description of the chain of events leading up to and including the INT was a great read! I can see that your future after football is very bright.

hate to say it and I know I'll get TD'd for it but one thing he didn't write in the story is that he actually didn't choose us over FSU. FSU told him quite a while after he initially committed to them
that they didn't have room for him and couldn't accept his commitment.

I don't think we get to see this very often.
He is the true definition of a "student athlete" and is making the Clemson family proud.

Unfortunately the TV angle, nor the reply capture Adrian's side of the field entirely, but if you look really closely at the beginning of this clip you can see Adrian sort of start to shadow the inside receiver before quickly shifting to take the outside guy which baited McGuire, just like he summarized in the article. Herbie even recognizes it and calls out the extraordinary play.
Fantastic article and what a heads up play by Baker. You know it's easy to overlook these types of plays throughout the course of a stressful play. Really interesting to hear how one play can have such a profound affect on a young man's psyche and self confidence. Very cool. Proud of you, Adrian.
