remember Grizzard saying if you drove through campus in Athens with your window down, they would just toss a diploma in your car as you drove by.

Grizzard is still remembered for the greatest headline in the history of sports journalism, according to Vince Dooley.

I loved Lewis Grizzard’s humor. I can also appreciate how much he loved his football team. I am curious what made you compare the admission standards at the two schools. I am a proud Tiger graduate. I only applied to Clemson because I did not want to attend anywhere else. I also teach in Georgia so I know that UGA admissions standards are tight. I compared the two universities at collegesimply.com. Clemson has a higher national ranking than UGA. On the flip side, UGA edges Clemson on the SAT scores. I want to curb stomp the Dawgs as much as anybody in September but, right now I cannot bad mouth their academics.

Acceptance to UGA today is not easy like Grizzard days/

It has gotten significantly more difficult to get accepted to UGA lately --- after they started offering free tuition to GA residents with high GPA. It was not that way when Lewis Grizzard was alive.

The diploma joke still applies in Cootlumbia.
