Adam Humphries

Aug 15, 2015, 7:22 PM

Really looking forward to seeing him play tonight for the Bucs. Look out for #11

We won't miss Humphries.

Aug 15, 2015, 7:27 PM

Not until somebody drops a 4 yard pass and we have to punt the ball, then we'll all appreciate what Adam mean to our team.

Though Adam dropped a couple critical balls on punts.

He was the only TD against Louisville this past year

Aug 15, 2015, 10:57 PM

had he not done that on his punt return early in the game we may lose because Cole was atrocious that game. Good thing we had a great defense because we were flat on offense. He earned his keep in that game.

True. Totally forgot about that punt return.

Our season really is over now that we have no reliable options to distribute the ball to on 3rd and 4, other than the 10 high school all-american receivers WRs who would give up a left nut for their name to be called to make a play in the most high-pressured situations arising in the upcoming season.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If & when he achieves any big success in the NFL...

Aug 16, 2015, 2:11 PM

Does he still disappoint for some reason?
Pretty sad.
Sounds like more of a general disliking of him...did someone lose some bet money "because of him"?
Hmmm....sounds about right to me ??

He fumbled once versus hte Coots.***

Because Martavis Bryant got launched into him.

And from Tiger fans that's shameful!!!
The young man helped us win games!
There were often opportunities to him that could've changed games outcomes, because he was important....now he's in the NFL.
Support him dammmit!!!

He made some mistakes at times, but did a heck of alot of great things too!

I'll just assume that all of y'all hating on him so much are perfect & have never made any mistakes or screwed up....much less under heavy pressure! Smh...

Go Tigers!

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and hope he has an amazing NFL career and will of course ALWAYS be pulling for him in the NFL. He caught a bunch on routine balls wide open while his teammates were being double covered, but to suggest his shoes are too big to fill (and we're in line to suffer any form of dropoff at the position) as a result, is wishful coot thinking at best.

Hump was at fault for not shouting out our clear out "code word" to alert our speed guys blocking the opponent's "runners" lined up out wide to clear out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bryant flashed by at Mach II and no amount of shouting

Aug 16, 2015, 10:36 PM

"code words" would have made a difference.

It was just an unfortunate circumstance. Too many people want to blame Adam. He was concentrating on catching the ball and Bryant clipped him knocking him loose from the ball.

In the other instance, Humphries was stripped in a very similar fashion to what Vic Beasley did to Dylan Thompson this past season. Just a good play by the defender.

Adam had a tough night.

But, face it, so did a LOT of other Clemson players in that game.

I think we'll miss him most on a of the end arounds he turned into huge chunks of yards everytime we were in desperate need of moving the chains. I only remember a couple of 4 yard CLUTCH catches. Jaron, Nuk, Sammy, Allen, Seck, Ellington and peake were the best options on 3rd. Onlt reason Hump saw a ball come his way was bc he was lined up next to 3 NFL star WRs and we couldn't count on one finger the amount of people in living in america who thought he would get the ball in said situation. Chad outsmarted the other team, those times.

Humphries was a solid contributor for us

Aug 15, 2015, 11:46 PM

Like Tigersblood said, he did some good blocking. He
had 2 TD catches vs Syracuse in '13 when Sammy was being
double teamed. Tajh missed some opportunities to toss it
to him, though. The one play i can't forget was in the 4th
quarter against SC in 2013: down on their 33, 2nd and 9,
Tajh, back to throw, saw the rush, pulled it down, took off
and had the ball stripped. Humphries was wide open over
the middle with only the ref near him. A quick pass to him
would have gotten well inside the 20; we could have tied it
up and gained some momentum.

Even on the 4th & 16, he was running open on the left side.
He had abot a 10 yard catch later in that drive.

4th and 16 play and point out the fact that Adam was "so wide open." So what? It's not like he made some great move or something. He ran his route, LSU's DBs were clearly dropping back to the 30 which was the first down line to keep throws in front of them, and there's no guarantee things work out if Tajh throws it his way. Given that Tajh had dropped back to the 4 yard line it would've been about a 30 yard throw to get it over there which could've given the LSU defenders time to break on the ball and make a play. Tajh and Nuk made a fantastic play and we went on to win the game. I hope i never have to hear about this again.

The other play was definitely a mistake by Tajh. Adam should have been the hot read there with the two backers blitzing, but he was under siege so much in those SC games that he just got really antsy and uncomfortable in the pocket. Some of it was on Tajh, some of it was just our OL being unable to block their front.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If not for his punt return, we would have lost to Louisvill***
