Actually loving this season...

The close games are thrilling. They SHOULD bring us together (team, school, fans).
Cunningham looked almost as good as Deshaun last night. Both teams left it all on the field. Watch the highlights.
Confession: I made plans during Clemson games last season. That’s over. I am now re-glued to a screen every game day, watching in real time. In one hand I hold a beverage or a remote, in the other a defibrillator paddle. I enjoy every second of it.
The team rallied around DJ after he limped into the end zone. We should too.

Nothing about this season has been good to drop from elite status to barely beating the likes of GT and the Cuse. Well barely beating everyone and losing to NCST ,Pitt. Its concerning to me I know we can’t go 15-0 every season but to drop this fast is mind blowing. This program is on the ledge and next season will determine how strong this program really is.

This is all true but I think the OP is just saying it’s been more interesting. In years past we KNEW we were going to beat certain teams which made the build up to the game sort of bland. Now ever week is a coin flip.

sounds a bit entitled. I don't like the record or he fall off in polls but I do see a team that doesn't quit

where we lose some games. This team doesn’t quit and that’s a lot more than I can say for some Clemson teams I’ve seen in the past. They care, they work hard and their coaches don’t throw them under the bus. Take a look around the country and will see a lot of teams that can’t say that. I’m proud of our guys and if you’re not I don’t know what to say for you.

Cunningham as good as Watson? Night and day. Watson was a complete competitor. He was pass first and if it wasn’t there he would get it with his legs. Cunningham is a run first QB. If you are talking about their competitiveness, I’m with you. But in my opinion Watson was head and shoulders better.

I was implying that it took a lot to beat him … yes his competitiveness/playing injured…
Everyone freaking out that we aren’t number one are victims of “blame culture”….
I believe “cancel culture” is what the kids are calling …

That is not the case. There is a real fear of the program starting to slide.
We are not going to be undefeated every year, but this is not just bad it is really really bad. For the offense to perform like it has, cannot go without consequences.
Remember FSU. It all started with misses on the oline and JW. Then crumbled from there.

To say that this rough patch that Clemson is in is outlandish comparing them to FSU! CLEMSON, even if they went 0-15 would never be what FSU was. Clemson has young men that appear to be respectable, willing to lay it all on the line and although make stupid mistakes, don't end up being locked up in jail. When that starts to happen, I will no longer be a Clemson fan, and it has Ben over 40 years.

What fear? The recruiting is still doing good. The defense is going to be outstanding again next year. The offense can only do better. We loss to the number 1 team in the country in week 1. It was a dog fight. We have been hurt all year. Key pieces hurt. We will be fine. The oline will be improved next year.

It’s not as bad as some say. The sky is not falling. It’s just raining.
Adjustments will be made.. we’re fine.
Sit back and enjoy the show…

It's just been a rollercoaster, but I too can't look away. So exciting. I wasn't worried after the GA game. GA always tough. In the following weeks I was like what the ####? Every game I'm on the edge of my seat.
This team just doesn't give up and I love it. We've criticized the O line, but they battle to the end. Some have dragged DJ through the mud. But he's played better over the last 2 weeks.
Some blame the coaches. But winning close games is a sign of good coaching.
I know some are disappointed but this team is impressive in alot of way. They fight fight fight.
I'm telling everyone....you want action, you want drama, get to your tv and watch this team.

My personal belief is that even more than the O line play, our offensive biggest problem is Tony Elliott. We have complained about his play calling even when we were going undefeated bc, playing against teams that had a heart beat, TE's play calling made those game even harder to win, and even then in some of those games, BV's defense has had to save wins for us even with an elite QB...
Since Jeff Scott has been gone, even with TL16 as our QB, even his superior play, play calling made it was making it hard for us to win against good teams, and now that we don't have elite QB that has the trust to change plays at the line of scrimmage, the will of our talent has squeaked us by to a win, and that has been mostly by our defense.
TE is a good man, a Clemson man no doubt, but he don't have the experience from working with other experienced OC's with a lot of different ways that an offense can work with different ideas of offensive plays, and with the best way to call plays with the talent that he has in the game on every down, Tony don't have that experience, and that is why he calls our offense the very same way on every down regardless of who is in the game. With the offensive talent that we're able to bring in with us being known as an elite team, to keep that level of talent coming to Clemson, we are going to need an OC with years of experience play calling with the talent that's on hand to play!!!

I appreciate the idea of making the best out of a bad situation, but I am afraid that I don't agree. I am just fine with us having our competitive games in December and January.
This year is entertaining. We are still better than most programs, but we have taken a step back that is hard to explain. When you are getting closer to your goals, it is easy to be optimistic which is fun. When you are going in the wrong direction, that optimism is much more difficult.
This team has more problems than just injuries. What they are and to what extent are debated on hear everyday. Maybe the games would not be as exciting, but I will take debating on why this team is so good versus why this team is so bad any day.

Crushing our opponents is what I also like to see. Struggling to beat 4-4 teams is not my idea of a season to love.

As long as we put that 30 point beatdown on the Cawks

at The Roach that we have been holding on to since last year, I'm ok with a "thrilling" win against Weak Florist, and of course a beatdown of UConn. Then, a win in the bowl game to preserve the streak of at least 10 win seasons.
Remember, when Tommy Bowden left, all the pundits said that 9 regular season wins a year was our ceiling, and we shouldn't EXPECT anything better than that. Who do we think we are, anyway?
