According to ESPN - Where is K. Bryant?
Feb 21, 2016, 1:24 AM

Watched the latest Clemson Clubhouse Espn video and the two commentators talked about Deshaun, and the 2 top 300 quarterbacks The Tigers signed for 2017. They didn't even mention Bryant. They went on and on about how the 2017 prospects were both pocket passers, etc. but could scramble. So it raised a question: Any insights on how Bryant may fit in this year? Deshaun is wanting to show the NFL what He's got and have aspirations for the Heisman again. Assuming that He doesn't get hurt, Kelly won't see a lot of playing time unless there is another ( Miami "type" game). So, How does Kelly fit in? Is He the starter ( successor of Deshaun ) in 2017 with two freshman back-ups?

Well, does it really matter what e$ecpn mentions or doesn't mention? Kelly Bryant WILL get reps this year, and a lot of them. The staff KNOWS he needs to be ready to take the reins once DW leaves in January. KB IS up to the task and what you will see when he does come in will be a quarterback running the offense like the score is 0-0. He needs to be turned loose to work on his passing game and develop the field general mentality. Bryant is faster than DW but lacks college game experience. DW excels in game management. This is the area Bryant needs to focus on and the staff knows this.

Agree. It doesn't do him very much good to just run the ball when he comes into the game. He needs to throw and throw a lot in the games he comes in. That's the only way we get a true evaluation of how good he will be.

It was a recruiting nation piece on 2017 recruits don't make a mountain out of a mole hole.

ESPN hasn't seen Kelly Bryant in college...

so they can't comment on him. So it means nothing. They were just talking how good Watson was, and us picking up a 5 star and 4 star QB. Just discussion, nothing more, nothing less.

Let's be real. If Deshaun leaves for the NFL and we are able to hold onto the 2 commits for the 2017 season, someone is going to get their feelings hurt and we more than likely will have at least 1 transfer if not more from the QB depth. The only question remains is who will it be and who will replace not only Deshaun's skill set, but also his leadership. If you include the 2 that could potentially join in 2017, there will be a lot of talent with only 1 starter position.
I would like to see Kelly Bryant develop more as passer this year. It seemed like they wouldn't allow him to throw much when he was in there. I also think Zerrick Cooper is going to push him when he gets here even if he takes a redshirt this year. Kelly Bryant is going to need the young inexperienced defense to develop fast for him to get more playing time this year. This will be a pivotal year for him and his potential to become the starter next season.
But hey having depth is always a good thing. I think we all remember 2 seasons ago when Deshaun was hurt and the debacle we went through that season.
