ACC Network in Union, SC with Charter/Spectrum?

Aug 27, 2019, 8:19 AM

I live out of state and I'm trying to help my in-laws. They have an older Charter plan that doesn't include ESPNU. Are they able to get the channel yet in Union to watch the game on Thursday? I've read where some people are calling and switching from their basic Charter plan to a basic Spectrum plan and they'll get the channel.

Thanks for any help and clarifications!

I was told I had the ACC Network by my Charter folks, but when I tried it yesterday, guess what? No ACC Network. Called and waited on hold for about an hour, finally got a really nice woman who said she'd help. She did say I'd need to switch over from Charter to the Spectrum, which I thought already had happened, but she did that, and said she would call me back when they got it fixed. She called me back last night to say they have issues, but they should have solved today. We'll see. I hope so, but I will be at the game, no matter what. I would love to record it, though.

They will need to sign up for the select plan.

Which is the least expensive package.

The bill may go up if you were on a really good old deal.

@GeeVille-Tiger- I have a question about the Spectrum plans. I understand . I think , about the charter users being forced to convert from a "grandfathered" plan to a spectrum plan "if" thaey want to make a programming change.

It reminds me of the old saying, " no good deed goes unpunished". Charter was acquired by what is now called Spectrum. They told existing customers at that time, you can stay on your current plan as long as you are happy with it, but if you want to make programming changes those will have to occur in the spectrum pricing tiers. That makes perfect sense to me , and actually think it was an offer that they probably didn't have to make.

Now we arrive at August 2019, Spectrum is putting the new content , ACCN, into their "Select" programming tier. This tier BTW, is the lowest tier that Spectrum currently offers ESPNU and the SEC network in . Is that correct? The old grandfathered charter guys have been getting what existed in the select plan without additional charge based on their grandfathered status.

Is that correct? If it is, I do not think that the guys on here have any right to think that ACC should be dropped into the grandfathered channel list. It seems Spectrum is being fair here.

Now , as a general management of the communication , execution, it has been a true goat rodeo. For that I would be angry.

So is everyone getting the ACCN already that has this plan?

Especially in Union, SC. I know it seems to be regional.

I told my wife I needed to buy YouTube TV for 3 months to watch the ACC Network.

She said "Wow the season is only 3 months long?"

I told her "It is for the Gamecocks, for us the post season will be on ABC and ESPN."
