ACC expansion. I know Swofturd said emphatically yesterday

that there are no plans for adding another team to the ACC. I say, "Not so fast, my friends." Semantics being what they are, his statement means absolutely nothing. Just ask the Big East.
I think another team will be added. The deal with ND includes a commitment from them to play five ACC teams per year and to play each ACC team every three years. That means they'll be playing 4.666 ACC teams/year.
Wait, wut? There will have to be a 15th team for them to play in order for that to work out well.
Another reason I think we'll add another team within the next two years is the basketball powers favor moving to divisional play. Ferretface is a major proponent of divisional play. That, in itself, pretty much makes it a done deal.
The big question is.....who? UConn would be my bet. Others receiving votes: Navy and Rutgers.

No, they just stagger the teams indefinately:
Year 1: A, B, C, @D, @E Year 2: D, E, @F, @G, @H Year 3: F, G, H, @I, @J Year 4: I, J, @K, @L, @M Year 5: L, M, N, @P, @A Year 6: P, A, @B, @C
and so on and so forth

I would agree if it weren't for the desire for divisional play among the bb powers.

In my opinion, Rutgers has no chance. I don't think the ACC presidents would vote to split up the money to bring in another team unless and until ND becomes a full member. If that ever happens, I think Navy would get the nod.

Interesting. What is your argument for Navy over Rutgers?

Not saying your wrong. Just curious. Also, I would be happy with either.

OK, no UConn.
Unfortunately, I don't get a vote. I was just saying who I would bet gets the invite.

For economic reasons, it will not happen unless/until ND joins in football.

That would put Swofturd in the HOF. I'd even start calling him by his real name. Somebody will have to tell me what it is, if that ever happens.

I could see moving to the ACC as a much more viable probability as they take an opportunity to better clean their slate and start anew in the coming years. It won't happen of course without ND as a full-time member, but the possibility for PSU is much greater today than it was just last year.
