Kind of surprised that of the assistant coaches out there, they went with this guy. I wonder if they at least put out feelers to see if they could pry Tony Elliott out of Clemson. I would have thought if you were going to take a chance, maybe go with someone who knows the Dabo culture and comes with really strong bona fides.

he is a solid recruiter. He will need to be innovative with his staff and system if he expects to do anything in Columbia the next 3 years, because that roster is weak.

They were bargain shopping. If the guy manages to beat anyone of note he will get hired away for a better contract.

They did go after someone that had Dabo credentials but Napier turned them down. Beamer will have to bend the rules a little to recruit good players there. However, that has not been a problem there. Anything to win and the NCAA rules committee will not punish anyone in the SEC severely.
