Our game there where we overcame the insurmountable odds of defeating Logan "Tall One" Thomas and his invincible cohorts was absolutely frigid. No rain , but cold and windy. Still , the result was warm and toasty.

... the fact that Charlotte had changed from the Bobcats back to the Hornets was completely lost on me.
When I first read your message, I thought "Charlotte Hornets? What year is this?"
Had to Google it to see that they had changed their name back to Hornets at the end of last season.

I like to see games played in the elements, it's part of the game for cryin' out loud. Some of the greatest games in the history of football occurred because of the elements. Please pass the whine and cheese.

The reason Charlotte works...

is that it's in the middle of ACC country. You have a city that's within reasonable driving distance of our schools stretching from Virginia down to Georgia, or even North Florida. And the average person in that area might be more disposed to being an ACC fan than, say, someone in Jacksonville or Tampa.
We had to build up the game and give ourselves a chance as a conference to turn the ACCCG into a showcase. Part of that is increasing our chances at good attendance, which Charlotte provides.
So, I think weighing all factors, Charlotte is the best place for this game.

moved up into some place in virginia. i am sure swoffie is perfectly thrilled with all those people that are happy the game is played in north carolina. i heard he wanted the game to be played somewhere in the trinagle, but was told that that decision would further raise peoples suspicions about his favoritism for the nc schools in general, unc in particular. y'all can count me in with those people that would like the game to be played in tampa, as i think that would help to further enhance all the acc schools' recruiting abilities in fla.,maybe turning some players away from the sec or other national programs that are located outside the southeast, pretty much the same way that the bowl games help.
