A repost for dealing with difficult Coots

Oct 2, 2018, 8:14 AM

In this time of desperation known as the "one for the thumb" era, a handy quick reference guide is available for dealing with those delusional Coot aquaintences.

- Clemson has more 10 win seasons this decade (7) than South Carolina has in over 125 years of
football dating back to 1892 (4).
- Clemson has more National Championships than South Carolina has Conference Championships.
- Clemson has appeared in 7 major bowls in this decade alone (winning 5). South Carolina has never
even played in a major bowl game.
- Clemson has 22 bowl victories. South Carolina has 22 bowl appearances with only 9 wins.
- The two largest margins of victory by an ACC team over an SEC team both belong to Clemson,
beating South Carolina 63-17 and 56-7.
- Clemson has 17 ACC Championships. South Carolina has made only one SEC championship appearance. A
56-17 drubbing by Auburn..a 39 point deficit and still a record for SEC championship games.

A point about the SEC championship game drubbing

by Auburn. That score differential is greater than the score differential in our loss to West Va. I made that point to some mouthy gamecock fans, and after counting on all their fingers and toes a couple of times, they were really quiet.

Yes! I had originally included that in there, saying they'd inevitably bring it up. I decided to take it out.

A point about their 5-peat

With those 5 wins, they have won 7 times in 21 tries. Soon to be 22.

Don't forget...

In the past 5 years, their SEC record is 13-22 (including this year's partial schedule). I would have to look back at our records, but I'd be willing to be we've beat close to 13 (I'm going to guess 9 or 10) SEC schools in the past 5 years without even being in the conference.

Go Tigers!

Just did the math...we're 9-4 against SEC teams since 2013 season. That includes the last of the 5-bombs, 2 losses to Bammer, and 1 loss to UGA.

The wins were against UGA, USCjr, Auburn, Bammer, and A&M

All good stuff!

We need to keep this thing updated! It can become the new "This is Gamecock Football" lol
