If
USC / Ole Miss / LSU / Bama / Oklahoma
finish 2022 higher ranked than Clemson.
These are the top5 schools in the Transfer Portal rankings so far.

That won't be a good measure at all. That's like trying to validate a recruiting class ranking after 1 season while eliminating all other variables.

A good measure of the 3-4 defense will be if UGA finishes ranked higher than Clemson this year.
We could go all day with this.
You can't cherry pick one aspect of a program and claim it as the reason they are successful and say that is the reason they are better than another selected team who does something differently.

Well, Bama had better talent to begin with so I would throw them out.

Hard to argue Bama finishing ahead of us would mean that...

They were ahead of us talent wise to begin with.
As for the other 4... Oklahoma is the best comparison. Oklahoma is not far off of us talent wise, but has gone a different route with the TP.
Any of the other 3 finishing ahead of us would be a huge indictment on our lack of Transfer Portal use - those teams are inferior in talent to us before the TP and are probably still inferior to us even with the TP... but they've used the TP for key positions like QB/WR.
