A few positives from this season that can still help us out

down the stretch.
For starters, we have yet to lose two games in a row all year. We've rebounded from losses well so far and taken care of business next time up. With Miami visiting Saturday, this will be a crucial test for that. A win puts us in a strong position for the final 7 - a loss would leave us in pretty dire straits.
Secondly, we are 4-2 in one possession games this season after starting out 0 and 2 there. One possession games have been a big bugaboo for the Brad since he's been here, and this team is showing some real mettle in these situations lately, with more confident and cohesive play than we've experienced too often in the past. If Brad and his staff can help maintain this trajectory, then we have a great chance of cracking the ACCT and NCAA nuts. Winning 2/3's of one possession games is a recipe for a great season, and we are still in a position to deliver on that end.
Last night was a road clunker, which happens. For now, it simply means that we have no more room for error, though we now have to nab one of the road games versus UNC, UVA, or NC State to ensure a path in. If our trends above hold, which would mean a win over Miami Saturday, we will have a full week for rest and healing, and likely enter the last 7 games with a fully healthy roster at our disposal for a change, along with the added depth and development from our freshmen who have been pressed into service.
Tough loss last night, but plenty of opportunity ahead to righten that.

I agree. How we respond Saturday is crucial. I think we actually can afford losses at Virginia and UNC and still be in good shape but that means we must win the rest ( none of which are easy btw). What "casual" basketball on this board fail to understand is that there are NO EASY wins in the ACC or " gimme games like in Football. We are not going to win all of the remaining games but 22(or 23 for sure) pretty much guarantees a top 4 finish which SHOULD get an NCAA slot. If that does not the selection process has real issues.

How about teaching and applying three bigs and two guards at same time and in powering the ball inside to the basket when the team goes cold from their outside shooting - should have won last night's game by doing it when our outside shooters went cold. When is Brownell ever going to learn this lesson!!!! He lives and dies with the three point shot!

They fed the ball to PJ all night and it led to missed shots and turnovers.
It was mostly the way the game was called.
They "let them play" which was to our disadvantage when PJ was covered by a taller player and one that outweighed him by quite a bit.
If anything, there should have been more passes into the post followed by passes out and 3s or drives.
We missed a lot of shots, but they weren't easy shots.

Ding ding ding...
People saying we should have given it to pj more obviously didn't watch the game
Unfortunately he had a 7 footer guarding him and he couldn't do much on him down low.

We failed to capitalize when Post went to the bench with 3 fouls and then eventually 4 fouls...we cut it to 4, but then didn't do anything for several minutes. PJ didn't have his best game last night...regardless of who was guarding him. He certainly wasn't alone in that.
