A Dem super majority scares me. Four more years of DJT

scares me.
Economic policy-wise, four more years of DJT would be better than a Dem super majority.
Leadership and sanity-wise, it's a toss up b/c I sincerely think Biden has dementia/Alzheimer's but Trump is demonstrably incapable of statesmanship/leadership.
Peace in our country-wise, the Dems might calm things down a bit. At least for a while. But at a huge cost.
I see no good choices in November.

Statesmanship...look at their global activity. Doesn't appear anyone else is entertaining the thought of standing up to them, either. The world seems to be in a state of flux...and statesmanship is non-existent...IMO...

Yep.
Whoever takes the Senate is more than likely going to kill it completely this time. Honestly, they should. Anyone who wants to support the Constitution on either side should support it going away. It spells out when you needed a super majority and for what. Filibuster was invented rule that they have kept out of tradition that added things that were never intended to require more than a simple majority.

A Dem super majority (any party super majority) IS scary. Having a Dem president, House, and Senate will allow the party to jam its agenda down our throats for at least two years, and for the most part, unchecked. Balance is important in our government now.
But this is the stage that has been set by the GOP and idiot Trumpies. They foolishly backed this clown, doubled down on him when they should have booted him, and then rubbed it in our faces as if Team Trump is their football team.
I, too, dread a Dem super majority. But such is the result when the GOP hitches their wagon to a fascist--yes, he is--imbecile.

A lot of voters, particularly suburban women, think Biden and Dems will be a 'return to normal'.
What is the evidence for this? Are the Dems doing anything at all to condemn the actions by these 'peaceful protesters'? Not one word of condemnation. Dems are in lockstep solidarity with this chaos. There's not a doubt in my mind that a Biden admin would immediately stop all Federal prosecutions of those arrested in these riots.
Trump's press briefings, interviews, and twitter are often times cringe-worthy clown shows. But I'll take that over what the Dems are offering.

Aug 6, 2020, 4:55 PM

and I highly doubt we will agree...
And I can only speak for myself, because I am talking about how I feel. I'm pretty much desensitized to all of this crap that Trump does. I don't like him. He makes me cringe, but it doesn't bother me a whole lot because:
1) While Obama didn't start it, I think he was the most divisive POTUS we have had. While it can be argued that he was much more "diplomatic" in his insults, he was very condescending toward people who disagreed with him. I think he is just like Trump, only in a more "dignified" way.
2) I believe Trump is a direct result of 8 years of Obama. Republicans were constantly railroaded because they had no spine. The Tea Party became the MAGA crowd. And Hillary was highly unlikable by most.
3) There is also what is seen by many as a double standard. Hillary can store official emails on a private server. Then she can destroy the evidence and get away with it. Biden makes deals, his son profits. No big deal. Transparent Obama blocks FOI access to records. No outrage. The list goes on and on.
4) Consistent crying wolf and made up stuff about Trump over the last four years. Fake dossier.... Yawn.
The whole place is corrupt. So if you weren't butthurt over any of the stuff liberals dis, I'm not going to be butthurt over what Trump does.
I have enough personal integrity that Trump could do something that I would demand his ouster. But I haven't seen that yet.
I think there are a lot of Americans. like me, who are completely desensitized to it. Just a lot of hypocrisy.

That’s ok, man.
While, I don’t think Obama was a terribly effective potus in his first term, he got better at his job. He put the work in and learned what he needed to do. Trump doesn’t GAF about any kind of learning or improving his woeful leadership skills. He seems perfectly happy to make an a z z of himself and America without the slightest regret.

when Obama got elected, while I didn't vote for him, I thought it was kind of cool that we had broken the race barrier. I thought his victory speech was great. I was (or at least think) willing to give him a chance.
He killed that pretty quickly, doubled down several times...there wasn't much he could do right after that in a second term. I won't say he never tried to be bipartisan, but I don't recall him ever trying too unite the country apart from his first term victory speech.

was stupid. It would’ve been much better for America had the thing passed in it’s entirety or outright killed when they saw only part of it would get by. After that, cant blame GOP for taking the gloves off. His pizzing match with McConnell is also regrettable.
I voted for him the first time around because Palin had no business being that close to the presidency. Second time I voted for Romney because Obama was just not effective. At least he improved himself, got better at his job. I don’t envision Biden being a great potus, but its clear to me that America needs to separate itself from the Trump clan.

Again, I don't expect Biden to be a good or effective president.
However, the Tweets will be gone. The divisive comments will be gone. The arrogance and narcissism will be gone. The ######## flag waving, boat parades, and team Trump #### will all go out to the curb faster than Gamecock gear in November.
It won't be great, but it will bring us back to some sanity. We need it badly now.

months of rioting, looting, businesses being burned, statues toppled, innocent people beaten/accosted while acting like Trump boat parades are the cause of the divisiveness. It amazes and scares me at the same time that so many otherwise sane, rational people have become so delusional in regards to Trump.
I mean, I don't even like the guy. But he's not the reason they burned a Wendy's and shot up a little girl in Atlanta. You think they'll stop all that #### just because he's not in office?

riots and looting. However, he is a racist who has dog whistled a lot of bad behavior. The peaceful demonstrations, rioting, and racial divide will not be over whenever he's gone, but I imagine it will be lessened under Biden (I'm not voting for him either) if he wins.
And in the larger picture, things are not going to "return to normal" any time soon whenever Trump is gone.

His divisiveness existed well before those riots, and when the situation arose, his comments and actions helped to escalate them, not quell them.
If anything, the fact that they have continued to occur under his watch adds to the reasons he needs to get the boot.
