A day after and watching the game on TV for the 1st time....

Nov 27, 2022, 11:48 AM

My take on the program is:

1. Streeter isn't the guy. Very predictable Offense got manhandled yesterday by an average to below-average defense. His calls are too vanilla.

2. Our Defense is soft. We have so many badass 5-stars that play like a 1-star. Murphy and Bresee played with zero effort to have so much talent.

3. We still have some awesome players that play with "ALL IN" effort. Shipley, Simpson, and Henry to name a few.

4. Too many coaches' sons...enough said. This isn't a participation trophy team...except if your last name ends in Swinney or Venables.

5. Bad decisions by our coaches. Love Williams but do you really want the ball in his hands when the game is on the line? A terrible fumble that might have been the game-changer.

6. Our Wide Receivers are terrible. The worst group of WR's since I went to school back in the Tommy West days. Go ahead sunshine pumpers but there is no way you can debate that one. We were known as WRU and we have lost that to the trolls in Columbus.

7. DJ isn't as bad as everyone is saying. How can a QB be successful when the WR's can't catch balls thrown right into their hands? How can a QB be successful when the play calling is so terrible? The dude puts it all out there and we are going to run him off for the next flavor of the day.

8. Dabo needs to do what Dabo does and make some hard decisions to turn the ship around. New OC? New DC? Start utilizing the transfer portal? Get caught up with the times and create wealth through NIL and not other means? Yes to all IMHO.

I wasn't so mad until I watched the game this am on TV. We actually were dominated. Ratless made two terrible throws that gave us a pick six and negated a TD opportunity for them (14 point swing). We actually got a favorable call that lead to a favorable review on the backward pass that the RB dropped, which should have been another 7 points for the coots. That's 21 points right there.

I'm done venting and please comment however you would like. I have thick skin, especially after last night's fiasco.

WE ARE CLEMSON AND I'M "ALL IN"

Spot On. DJ is the most improved player on our offense.

We don’t have receivers running free anywhere on the field on 90% of plays. We don’t scheme players open. Everything is a 50/50 ball. How many receivers have we had in last ten years that get caught from behind like Collins did last night? Our guys are slow. Period. Can’t get separation. Is that DJs fault?

We dominated them in run game but Ship only gets six second half carries?

Blaming DJ is insane.

This is about coaching.

Totally agree. Unfortunately, a change is needed now!!!

I forgot-

9. We need a punter. And not one that will try to throw a pass on his own and one that Dabo doesn't have to dress down on TV. One that has touch but also can Boom it when needed.

and last one. I forgot to put the fight between the D-Backs that the TV was referring to. Did anyone see it? I went to get a coke.

You didn’t watch the same game I did - twice

When it comes to the offense. While our receivers need route running coaching what’s the point when the QB stares down his primary target, throws into double coverage and ignores open receivers.

I also think it’s horrible to even mention Williams. He has been a reliable bright spot this season. In an otherwise putrid offense.

You are spot on. As far as Williams goes, you are correct and love the kid...especially since he led the coots on and then committed to us. He has been awesome, just saying, that's a lot to put on a freshman. Live and learn.

You've got to drill it into the kids head the situation and either stressed a fair catch or 2 hands on the ball at all times.
