A case of Trevor Targeting I haven't seen anyone mention...

Jan 9, 2019, 8:24 PM

I've seen several questioning the targeting on Trevor when he was running with the ball and lowering his head. I'm no expert on the call, but I was under the impression it wasn't always considered targeting when you're a runner...

But what about when he was defenseless? At about 2:35 left in the 3rd quarter, he made a completion to Ross. In the replays, you briefly see him just standing there, looking the other direction, when 49 leads with his crown and crushes Trevor in the side of the helmet. Isn't that a case of classic targeting?

I didn't see it until the games was over. I enjoyed that but the back and forth on the videos of each play tried my nerves a bit. Imo, if that's what they do on Monday nights I'll watch old reruns of Mash or something.

has the ability to see the defender coming and puts his head down to protect the ball. I didn't like it any more than anyone else but I positively do not think it merited an ejection. I may have complained had it been called on one of our guys if the hit had been on Tua.

I completely agree...but I was pointing out the instance where it looked like legitimate targeting at the end of the 3rd quarter. Trevor, standing upright, looking in a different direction, blindsided with a helmet crown to the side of his helmet...
