Does anyone know the approximate dimensions of a Basketball

Arena? Some investor friends of mine want to buy and convert a bunch of them into indoor driving ranges. Their market research has shown that Golf has surpassed Basketball in popularity in the United states and they are just following trends the way smart investors do. I have never been inside one before, so I am not sure if it would be possible to drive a ball 300 yards.

TYIA.

Sounds like a billion dollar idea

I would pounce on this opportunity hard and fast with everything in my bank account (if I were you)

No, driving ranges. I really do not know much about the tech stuff.

It is possible to drive a ball 300yds, but most would need a car for that. Yall should look at nascar tracks, they should be cheap by now.

our market research shows that NASCAR is more popular than Basketball and driving ranges, so I doubt the big boy brokers will go for this.

I hold Skeeta56 solely responsible for golf surpassing

basketball in popularity at Clemson. Of course Brad Brownell and Judge Keller haven’t done much to help basketball’s popularity either but that’s a discussion for another day.

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

I’m pretty sure the court itself as less than 100 yards

But it’s been awhile since I’ve played so I can’t be sure. I’m positive that you’re not going to get more than 293-295 yards out of your average basketball arena

and Littlejohn holds 9000 of them.

69 x 9000= 621,000 total inches
621,000/12 = 51,750 total feet
51,750/300 = 172.5 football fields

Littlejohn is approximately 172 football fields in size.

I hope this helps.

Really makes you wonder.

We cram 80,000 spectators into every football game. Imagine if we played football in LJ instead of basketball.

172 simultaneous games x 80,000 spectators equals 13,760,000 spectators. 13,760,000 spectators X 50 USD per ticket equals 688,000,000 USD in ticket revenue.

Can someone send Neff an email about this?

Seriously (not)? Littlejohn is about 150,000 sq feet which would be about 130 yards x 130 yards. Sand wedges, pitching wedges or 9 irons depending on age and abilities.

I'm sure there are some bigger arenas since Clemson has never invested money there but a golf practice facility is a stretch unless you're going for the 3 to 6 year old crowd.

I think a basketball is about 12” across.
