Bama was not competing with Michigan for Green. Not sure where you got that from. It was between AU, UT, and Michigan, but it was the worst kept secret on the planet that he was going to Michigan.

I read an article yesterday about his commitment to Michigan. One of the things he said is - let me paraphrase - that he is originally from New York state and that playing early fall games in the Southeast with the heat and humidity was not terribly appealing.
So in this case the Midwest weather was a positive.
I'm sure there were many other reasons but it was interesting to hear this from a recruit - whether it be truthful from him or not.

Didn't know anyone actually preferred the North's weather to the South's.
I work with a bunch of transplants from the North, and most of them came down here for our weather.

I mean, just look at poor Adrian Peterson. That guy went to Oklahoma, and played in the Big-12.
I bet that if Peterson had played in the SEC, he would have gotten the extra 9 yards he needed to beat the record of Eric Dickerson (SMU). Because, you know... SEC speed.
