Gotta tore up driver seat in older model 4runner. And by older we talking 04.

Reupholstered at a trim shop, seat cover, or burn it to the ground.

Also, passenger seat is fine. Any concerns with trim shop job or cover not matching up so good with the passenger side?

Leather. Current seats are leather and beige in color.

TIA, and gooooooooooooo tigers!

Good aftermarket right now making high quality OEM pattern and material covers for popular vehicles. If you're reasonably handy, there's probably a YouTube to walk you through install of these.

These guys are above average....sometimes their clips aren't exactly perfect for matching the clips on the stock covers, but you can't beat the price.

These guys are a little more and do nice work. If you just need a single seat back or bottom, call them for a price if they only have complete sets on their site.

A decent upholsterer should charge $150-200 to put a seat bottom only on, and $300-ish for bottom and back (labor).

those labor rates are gringo rates. I'm almost positive you'll "know a guy" who can install em for less.

The one advantage to using a real upholsterer is that

2

if you have any seriously broken down or torn up foam on the seat pad, they can repair it before putting the new cover on.....Cover might be a little ill fitting from someone who doesn't know how to work the foam because the new cover is patterned like a new cover---going on new foam.

One good trick is to get a steamer and use it on the foam...if it's open cell foam, it'll plump back up from the steam. Make sure your guy is using hog rings and not cheating with zip ties for attachment.

Apr 17, 2023, 1:09 PM [ in reply to Here ye go. ]

It's leather, seemingly good quality, and matches the existing leather.

I've had it in a box for about a year; I just need to either buy some hog rings and hog ring pliers, or take it to a upholstery shop and get it installed.

It split on the top and side of the lower bolster. Make sure to clean your leather up good so it gets a good match. I'd call it like 95% matched on mine. If you didn't know it was there, you never would notice. But I could see.

Cut two new pieces and stitched them in.

IIRC, it was like $200. But it was also 10 years ago so that's like $4,800 in today's dollars.

left bolster where it sewed onto the flat part of the drivers seat. It wasn't overly noticeable.

I sold it that way, in about 2015. I figured it into the price.
