Nance was incredible, and the year we won the ACC regular

season with Campbell and Davis was of course unique. And Billy Williams in his senior year after losing all that weight was something to see. But Wise, Tree, Rome and Abraham, three fresh and a soph, was something we likely won't see again.

or jittery, seemed to be loafing around with an "I got this' expression on his face. But he was always a step ahead of whoever was guarding him, and made every basket he needed to make. If he had kept his head on straight and that team stayed together, no telling how far they would have gone. For a year it was magic.
But you can't buy magic.

We were #2 in the country, at one time, under Barnes. What other time did that happen?

that we were ranked #5 pre season on the strength of the Wise, Rome, Abraham recruitment, with Tree being a soph. Don't know what happened during the year. Didn't drop much, if any, is my recollection.
Wise became the first ever freshman 1st Team All ACC. Phil Ford was a freshman that year also, for those who might not understand what an accomplishment that was.
I forget who this was against, unc I think, but it was way late in the game, under half a minute, we were up a couple, Skip was bringing the ball up. He came up the far sideline (away from the scorer's table; student seats were on that side of the floor then), and got double team trapped against the sideline an the mid-court line. As the double team closed in on him he whipped a behind-the-back pass clear across the court to Abraham on the other sideline. I mean, it was a bullet. Skip kept that same "I got this' look on his face the entire time. He was a basketball Joe Namath. Or could have been.

Sharone Wright didn’t come to Clemson for Cliff’s shag band.
