Who was Clemson looking at hiring besides Dabo?

Given the current round of the coaching carousel, I was wondering who Clemson was looking at hiring if not Dabo? It would be interesting to see how their respective careers played out. Obviously, we could not have done better. Anyone have a link?

It was either Saban, Urban Meyer, or Dabo.
He's beat both, and I'd say we're doing ok

Troy Calhoun (Air Force) was also mentioned and that was who I wanted at the time but would not trade anyone for Dabo now.

It was down to Bud Foster and Dabo as far as the public release of information. Dabo beat Steve Spurrier and the coots to finish out the season he took over for Bowden. That victory and his reputation with the players really got him the job.

Check out this old article by Espn last January where they interviewed Terry Don Phillips on the hiring of Dabo!! Its a great read!!!
Here's a quote from the release. "Among the coaches Phillips had an interest in were Gary Patterson, Jim Grobe, Brady Hoke, Will Muschamp, Troy Calhoun, Mike Locksley, Bud Foster, Brent Venables and Lane Kiffin."

Here's what each of these guys have done as a head coach since the start of the 2009 season. I'm fairly certain Ole Terry Don made the right choice! It was a MASTER STROKE!!
Dabo Swinney - 97-27 (CLEMSON!!!)
Gary Patterson - 86-30 (TCU)
Jim Grobe - 30-44 (Wake Forest, Baylor)
Brady Hoke - 44-34 (SDSU, Michigan, Tenn.)
Lane Kiffin - 45-24 (Tennessee, USC, FAU)
Will Muschamp - 42-32 (Florida, U-Suck)
Troy Calhoun - 65-51 (Air Force)
Mike Locksley - 3-31 (New Mexico, Maryland)
Bud Foster - (DC at Virginia Tech)

Seems to be who we we’re looking at closely and trying to gauge interest. There’s probably a few more names but I remember interviewing Bud Foster.
Wasn’t Vanderbilt’s coach considered a candidate for the job?

in part because there was a picture going around of him on the sidelines with blood on his face while he was blowing a gasket. Seriously, TB seemed so uninspiring, some were ready to hire a nutjob because of a picture that included blood.
