311.75

Nov 8, 2016, 12:48 PM

That's how many passing yards/game Lamar Jackson has to get to to eclipse 4000 passing yards. Against Wake, Houston, Kentucky, and whatever NY6 opponent he faces. Watson could very well remain the only player to ever reach 4000/1000 in a single season.

He's only passed for more than 300 4 times this season.

Postseason now counts towards

The total. He will have at least one postseason game. Watson had three postseason games last year to achieve the feat. The NCAA amended the rules to include postseason games into stats a few years ago. He will easily make that total if he doesn't get injured.

He has 3 regular season games + 1 post season game. Hence how I came up with 4 games left.

Lord knows Petrino will keep him in to get his stats. He'll probably go for like 500 total yards on Wake Forest, dismantle Kentucky, and the Houston game may be close for a half, but their wheels have started falling off and Lamar Jackson is going to put up his usual numbers.

Lamar Jackson is legit. I didn't think so before we played him, but he's plenty accurate, has an absolute laser for an arm, and he runs like no quarterback I've ever seen before (except Vick.) He's the real deal and statistically he deserves the Heisman because Louisville might be an 8-9 win team instead of 11-1 without him. But he's definitely benefitted from garbage time stats in a few games this year.
