If you really want to see a great coached game with everything on the line, it’s on right now for all to see!
Powerhouse Nebraska was almost unstoppable during the period of this amazing game, sit back an enjoy, I won’t spoil it for you an I’d appreciate that no one plays spoiler on this one!
Let’s go Tigers!

Watched it many times. The thing that stands out to me that I didn’t remember was how the announcers went into the coach’s boxes and announced on air what the next play was going to be. Maybe I didn’t remember it because I watched it live in a bar and you couldn’t hear the announcers.

I've always thought Cliff Austin #7 was one of Clemson's best running backs ever.

#35 was a pretty good running back along with Austin. He was the very first CU player to win rookie of the year or whatever they called back in the day. lol

Clemson came up with a final, time consuming drive to nearly

run out the clock, when they absolutely had to have one. Nebraska was beginning to run Rosier almost at will late in the game. Had we turned the ball over to them with a minute or two left, I very much doubt we would have liked the outcome.
Butt, "If Ifs and buts were cheese and nuts, none of us would ever go hungry!" We did what had to be done, when it had to be done.
Danny knew how close it was at the end, he almost looked green around the gills. He must have swallowed some of his "chaw".

I too remember Rosier at the end of the game and we just couldn't stop him from under six or seven yard gains. If I remember correctly, I think we had 22 or 23 players on that team that went on to play professional football.

and build-up at start b/4 game is still exciting to hear and makes the audience realize this is a big Natty between lowly #1 Clemson & high-powered #4 Huskers.
Plus, if you remember Miami was the hottest temp city in America on that humid day and the start of game was delayed since Rose Bowl running late thus our game start was delayed a bit..
so announcers had to add-lib a bit and make it dramatic, which they did!

Anyone remember Homer getting tackled on Nebraska sideline with extra roughness? Then Clemson Calvary went to rescue? Also they thought we were cheating with Perry and Devane at same time. Announcers said it wasn’t fair!
