2022 Quarterbacks

Since it appears that we'll only have 2 recruited QBs next season excluding Will Taylor.

If DJ doesn't drastically improve (which I really hope he does cause he seems like a great kid) and Cade is good as advertised and wins the starting job, do you think DJ would hit the portal too?
And if so, then we're down to 1 recruited QB and then Helms is one bad play from being the guy.

Not the best situation to be in right now, and not sure any QBs in the portal want to be a backup and possibly 3rd string out of the gate.

I'm sorry but there is zero chance DJ beats Cade. DJ is in his second year and one of the biggest 5 star busts I have ever seen.

It's true. But DJ is the second worst QB in the entire country. The worst in Clemson history statistically. It would be hard for anyone not to do better.

That is exactly how I see it going. DJ will more than likely transfer unless Dabo decides to play him for his Junior year. If that happens we will see more of the same we saw all this season. You are not going to find a five star for the portal that wants to be a back up. What you could find is a serviceable QB from the Portal that could help you when needed. It's my belief we don't due a very good job of development (TP) is a prime example been here as long as he has but not good enough to beat out DJ. Just my two cents.

It is all but certain to happen. Dabo better hit the portal for this position this year and recruit another QB.

Taylor was not recruited to be a QB.

We need to start recruiting 3 star, just happy to be here, type QBs in addition to the top guys. We need someone who could possibly contribute in a pinch or as an upperclassman who doesn't think they are a transfer away from being an NFL draft pick. Not ideal I realize but its better than having to roll out walk ons if somebody gets hurt.
