The 73-7 rout of Georgia Tech afforded the Clemson coaching staff to give playing to several younger players who deserved their chance to see the field, and one of the most impressive was freshman linebacker Trenton Simpson. Full Story »

Very impressive player for one who is so new to this defense. Definitely a steal for us

What a great kid! Could be one of our best ever, if he remains committed!
Just like ETN, who they are now talking about as a top 5 pick.

We're incredibly lucky to have Simpson and other talented young players with the same great attitude. I'm going to enjoy watching his development over the next couple years.

Game changer... offensive coordinators will have to gameplan for him

or else they might very well pay for it.

Looks extremely athletic and very Dorian O’Daniel style. Maybe slightly larger but moves nicely and response to keys on a play is very impressive. Just think what happens when he gets experience. Yesterday and hopefully next week he will again see lots of playing time. He is future superstar along with several other defensive studs. Murphy, Breese, Simpson, Zanders, Sheridan Jones, Booth.

Need shades???? Future is as bright as the present ????????

Prediction: He will be a fan favorite***

2021 LB Starters

Oct 18, 2020, 7:28 PM

Based on current LB depth cart, and Skalski's departure with another ring and Spector staying for his 5th season, is it more likely Spector moves to Mike and Jones to Will, or does Spector stay at Will and Jones move to Mike opening up Sam position for T. Simpson? In one of these scenarios, Venables is first off the bench with two more yrs ahead to potentially start ...

Guys, don't forget we have Jeremiah Trotter (ILB) and Barrett Carter coming in 2021.

Skalski at Mike will be a huge loss. But the overall talent and sheer athleticism of our LBs will be exceptional the next 2 years.

Trotter's father played in the NFL for 10 years so maybe he starts off ahead of the curve and gets significant time at Mike as a freshman.
