They haven't put one out yet. There are 42-43 guys out there

this fall and they can only keep 35 of them. Some schools do a fall roster for scrimmage purposes, but we haven't done that previously, and haven't so far with Coach Lee.

I'm not positive but

I think it's 35 plus redshirts. Maybe there will be 6 or 7 redshirts this year. Redshirts are not listed on the roster and I believe the rule states that there can only be 35 on the roster.

Only scholarship athletes are true "redshirts." If you're on scholarship and you are redshirted you MUST be listed on the roster per NCAA rules.

The official roster must be finalized the day before the first game in the spring. Anyone not on that roster has been cut.

Some schools try to gloss over the fact that kids have been cut by calling them redshirts, but that's BS. If you aren't on the roster you are no more on the team than any other student. Walk ons that have been cut cannot practice with the team or work with the coaches. They CAN use the facilities when the team is not using them, but that's it.

SC used to call their kids that had been cut the "practice squad." Who knows, Monte may do the same thing. But, there is no such thing as a "practice squad" in the NCAA rule book.

I agree Lee got this strategy from Carolina. They way over sign and essentially make "cuts" after the fall. I hope I am wrong on this because some kids will be left out in the cold that could have played at a smaller school. I don't think this strategy is honest to our recruits but unfortunately most SEC schools do this to stay competitive.
