Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

One of the most famous calls of all time, too.

Agree. I will never forget our unknowns beating the Russians and the call by Al Michaels.

Being at #715

April 8, 1974 in Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium as Hank Aaron passed the Babe for HR record. The true non-steroid using HR record…

Gotta add another one #2131

Apr 6, 2023, 10:31 PM

Cal Ripken, Jr. breaking Lou Gehrig’s consecutive games record with the Orioles. The stadium was rocking for about 15 minutes in appreciation.

Jack in 86 is up there for sure and I was watching live, which makes it more memorable.

Some others…

The Miracle on Ice (also watching the delayed broadcast).

Ali lighting the Olympic Flame at ATL Olympics

Hail Flutie.

Michael Phelps Beijing Olympic performance

Women’s 1999 World Cup win against China

‘The Catch’…Montana to Clark

Greatest non-Clemson moment I personally witnesses, Nixon's '92 catch over the top of the center field wall.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I cant recall the greatest moments per se...

1

Apr 6, 2023, 3:35 PM

but those that really stick with me as moments I recall exactly where I was are....

- Kordell Stewart's 73 yd (in the air) hail mary to beat Michigan,

- The Christian Laettner shot

- Jorge Soler's moonshot against the Astros in Game 6

- Kris Jenkins buzzer beater to win the NCAAT

- Scott Norwood's missed fg against the Giants in the Super Bowl

- Michael Johnson breaking the 200m sprint world record in Atlanta at the 96 Olympics

Some of those are random but really stick out.

Top 5 for me:

3

Apr 6, 2023, 3:37 PM

Miracle on Ice hands down for me
2. Sid Bream and Cabrerra's walkoff/slide-off in NLCS game 7
3. Lorenzo Charles dunk in title game
4. Douglas knocks out Tyson
5. Bush's first pitch strike after 9-11

Yes - the Sid hit is near the top!***

Carolina Panthers knocking off the Dallas Cowboys in Death Valley in a playoff game I believe. Not a Panthers fan but it was great to witness that moment.

Secretariat’s triple crown
George Foreman vs Muhammad Ali (all fights)
Miami Dolphins 1971 undefeated season
Wilt Chamberlain scoring 100 points in a professional basketball game
Bill Russell vs Wilt Chamberlain games
Atlanta Braves win 13 straight to start the season

Ali only fought Foreman once. He won by tricking him and ducked him the rest of his career. And it's way past your bed time if you actually remember Wilt's game.

The Mandela effect has bitten you.

Carolina played only one season at Death Valley--its inaugural (1995). Panthers didn't make the playoffs that year. They did make the playoffs in 1996 and beat the Cowboys, in Charlotte.

Excellent topic. Miracle on ice. Buster beating Tyson. Chaminade beating Virginia. Auburn returning missed FG on Bama. Gibson HR vs Eckersley. Joe Carter walk off HR in World Series. Laetner shot. Tiger winning his last Masters. Russians robbing USA in 72 Olympics basketball. Just to name a few

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

a lot have already been mentioned... Miracle on Ice, Ali/Frazier

Apr 6, 2023, 5:37 PM

fights, Jack in 1986, etc. I'd add all of the fights between Sugar Ray, Hagler, Hearns & Duran. Secretariat moving like a tremendous machine. And Franz Klammer's downhill run to win gold in 1976, he had to go all out and was close to wiping out multiple times... it was incredible.
