1979 Gator bowl

Mar 6, 2013, 3:51 PM

Being somewhat of a slow day, I watched the famous Woody Hayes right cross one more time.
During the game, I realized how much better we feed our kids today than we did in the 60's and 70's. We only had one offensive lineman that tipped the scales at more 250 lbs.
Also, liked watching Bubba Brown fly all over the field!

i was at that game. Then next semester in the book store I stepped on this girl's foot next to the bar. I forget her name, she was on the tennis team, and also Charlie Bauman's girlfriend. Next thing you know he's in my face, and I'm seeing my life flash before my eyes. I remember asking him, so what was it like being hit by Woody Hayes, and he immediately went in to the story. I had to buy him a beer.

Let's show respect where it's due: The Bookstore is capitalized. Goober, Crad, Sugar Ray, Joe Todd, et.al. ran a smokin' hot bar during the time. The best college bar ever IMHO.

I think you meant 1978 Gator Bowl. In 1979, we went to the Peach Bowl against Baylor.
