What i love most is how big of a deal the 5 bomb was for

Mar 11, 2019, 11:25 AM

the U of SuCk fans and how irrelevant and insignificant it is to Clemson fans now that we are on the better side of the streak. Could you imagine how sad it would be around here if that was our "calling card"... thats gotta sting

Interesting timing. I was thinking about that very thing just a couple of days ago. During the days of the 5 peat, the teams were so close, both teams would have considered it a big deal to win the game. Unfortunately, we didn't come out on top. Now, the gap is huge. As you say, the game is barely on the radar. Of course it is a big deal because of the rivalry, but honestly, both fan bases expect us to win, so there isn't a huge desire to celebrate the inevitable so vociferously. I think the situation will remain the same for the foreseeable future. We will be glad to beat them each season, then we will move on to bigger things and they will remain an after-thought.

It is funny that during that stretch, South Carolina looked like it finally turned the corner not only in the rivalry but also as a program. Honestly, I thought South Carolina was slightly above Clemson overall during that 5 year period. However, what wasn't seen at the time was that South Carolina had already peaked and was slowly crumbling and a monster was about to wake in Clemson.

I saw it. The chickens were extremely lucky the last time they won and Spurrier said as much. It was obvious they were cycling out. The main reasons that they even had a good program at that time was
#1 Clemson’s coaching transition
#2 A bumper crop of instate talent
#3 The SEC east was waaay down

It was a once in a blue moon opportunity for them and they capitalized on it. However, it was unsustainable because the circumstances that made it possible would change. I take it that you’re young because anybody who’s been around for a least a little while knows that SC has always been a garbage program. Don’t let the in state media and their fans try to convince you otherwise because it’s simply not true.

Coot 5 Bomb vs Tiger 5 Bomb

Mar 11, 2019, 9:14 PM

When SC was 5 bombing Clemson, they went 49-17 overall and 3-2 in bowls.
When SC was 5 bombing Clemson, Tigers went 47-20 overall and 3-2 in bowls.

When Clemson 5 bombed SC, Tigers went 65-7 overall, 5-0 in bowls (5-2 in CFP) and won 2 Natty's
When Clemson 5 bombed SC, SC went 32-32 overall and 2-2 in bowls.

I'll take our 5 bomb over the SC 5 bomb.
No Clemson fan ever wanted to have a picture taken with Coach Muschamp, the other guy or the other guy.

I'm calling it now. We'll end up having a 12-14 peat and the Coots will fluke into a one game winning streak to end it but then get back to their sucky ways for about an 8 peat by us.

To add to this we get to enjoy women’s basketball this year because it’s just another sport we’re good at. For them it’s the only sport they’re good at

The coot relatives in our family won't even come to the family gatherings now. They always have other commitments. I can only guess that they crawled back under their rock.

Our 5 peat lacks some luster considering

Mar 12, 2019, 10:35 AM

we are one of 3 teams with a 5 peat over them right now.
So its kinda... Meh.

I guess its big for Kentucky, but not CU or aTm.
