Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

May 2, 2022, 7:21 AM

Friday night, stayed in. Did a small amount of house work, got ready for the home brew festival in Lincolnton of all places.

Saturday, home brew festival. All members of the club showed up on time with all the stuff we needed. We took home two prizes. Pretty good day

Sunday, more chores around the house.

Was pretty good. Rain kept me from the golf course but had a few things i needed to take care of anyway on Saturday. Have a fig tree and orange tree planted and doing good. Peach tree next.

Sunday was really good. New couple joined church... look like trouble makers so they will fit in just fine!

Got a video of a bald eagle being chased by crows behind my house Saturday. Great to see one of those here in NW Florida.

Saturday we had a soccer game for middle son. Youngest then had a birthday party to attend then oldest had an orchestra performance. Then did some weed eating, finally put out fertilizer, trimmed some shrubs, and cleaned out the garage. Then grocery store. Then went to double feature at the Big MO. Kids watched Sonic2.

Sunday was Church, then went to visit mom, then watched nieces piano recital.

Too busy. And no ########. 7.3/10

Wife and I had to divide and conquer Saturday morning. We all went to middle son's soccer game. Wife left early with 4yo for the birthday party. I took oldest and middle home, then to oldest son's orchestra thing. Wife then left party and met me, and we swapped cars to proceed with the rest of the day.

Not bad

May 2, 2022, 7:56 AM

Friday did some yard work after work and enjoyed the evening on the deck

Saturday I managed to evade the border guards and roaming patrols to infiltrate RH Tigs domain to judge some bbq
I was picked to be a runner instead of a judge which was ok because I got to sample what I wanted instead of having to eat what was put in front of me
A cousin had told me that a recent Clemson grad had bought my grandmother’s house and was completely renovating it so I rode by to see what I could see. He must have run out of money because the place looks abandoned with broken windows mail piled up everywhere and the grass not cut. The whole neighborhood looks even worse than the last time I was there with broken down cars, pieces of furniture in the yard and everything. It’s too bad that was a great place to be a grandkid in the 70s. We could walk to her church there was a schoolyard across the street and several neighborhood kids that didn’t mind playing with the visitors.

Sunday usual stuff

Had some family come down.

-Friday afternoon: Pool. Really good food truck. Then neighbors just started showing up on the street like a secret bat signal call went out. Lotta cornhole, beer, and good times with everyone.

-Saturday: Lotta pool. Smoked some ribs and chicken. Had neighbors over with the family. Played games. Lotta beer.

-Sunday: Golf. Played like #### but it was a gorgeous day to be out with friends.

May 2, 2022, 8:09 AM

Cut grass. Edged around the sidewalk. Finished ripping out all of whatever ugly ### bushes previous owners had planted. Replanted with encore azaleas, cause I like lots of blooms. Found after I had planted that one of the four was not an encore, so it will sit there feeling stupid in the summer and fall when it doesn’t have any flowers and the others do.

Layed down about 40 bags of mulch and cursed the steep angle of my driveway preventing me from just getting a bulk delivery.

Also, went and visited the school district’s Earth Day festival because lilmissgrouching was manning a booth for her school. One of the boys almost pissed off a rescue pit bull because he wanted to play and the dog didn’t. We left that booth alone after that.

Drank some beer with the neighbors and crashed hard last night.

6/10, no sexytimes and I’m feeling a bit old and stiff this morning.

May 2, 2022, 8:19 AM

******************************Friday******************************

Daughter had a volleyball game. She played great. In-laws took both of my kids with them. SarahAdidas and I went o a date to 929 Korean Restaurant in the Vista. It was okay - doubt I'll go back. We went home, had no sexitime. I watched Wind River (good movie) and a bunch of Ozark episodes.

******************************Saturday******************************

Woke up, wife took me to Mama Rabbit's (or MAGA Rabbit's, as I named it... the owner was in DC on January 6th) for brunch. It was good. Kids returned home from the in-laws. I installed a new hydraulic cylinder on the tractor and began cutting up a huge limb that fell from our 300-350 year old oak tree in the back yard (17' circumference, measured 4' off the ground). Had a late night dinner at Brothers and Beer. Dogs were raising helll outside, and I found an armadillo that I have been trying to catch for months. I blasted it to helll. Great success!!!

******************************Sunday******************************

Woke up, banged the wife, took the family to Lowes Foods for smoothies, coffee, and muffins. Went to church. Lunch at wife's grandma's house. In-laws took the kids again. Wife and I came home, found that two more huge limbs had dropped off of the old oak tree. I broke a hydraulic fitting off on the new tractor cylinder. Tried to extract it and thread in a new one, but it was friction-welded in. SMMFH. I successfully welded the broken fitting back to the cylinder with no leaks, and didn't burn up the seals in the cylinder. Great success!!! Went to Lowes Foods with the wife and some friends for $1.5 mimosas. Got fairly drunk. Came home, passed out. Wife made spagetti and gave me a BeeJ(for the first time in FOREVER). For those keeping score... that's twice in one day. We shaved my two dogs with some $200 clippers that I bought at Tractor Supply.

TLDR:
Killed an armadillo. Shaved my dogs. Busted nutz twice. In-laws had the kids most of the weekend. Old oak tree falling apart.

Re: Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

May 2, 2022, 8:25 AM

Thursday: Slept in, ate a smorgasbord at Taco Bell for Linner, played a late nine holes with friends and drank too much afterwards.

Friday: Slept in, laid out in the sun to work on my summer tan, ate a family size bag of Doritos for lunch, showered, went to a new place for dinner and set some lines, got a bunch of feminists mad at me on Twitter.

Saturday: Woke up early to play golf. Ate breakfast tacos at course with a couple mimosas. Won our game on the first 18, played an e-nine money match as an eightsome afterwards and won again. Took a special young lady to a Mexican restaurant. PSA: Azul doesn’t mean premium or fancy in Mexican. It actually means blue. If you order a drink with the word Azul in its name, you’ll look like a tool and people will laugh at you.

Sunday: Woke up early again for another round of golf. Played like crap. Went home and sulked, drank a beer and consumed just shy of a pint of cheese dip with a bag of Tostitos. Showered and went to a party to do some gambling on pool and wedge shots. Free booze and pizza so it was cool. Ran over a raccoon or my neighbors cat on the way home. Trying to figure out a way to ask them how their cat is doing without it being obvious that I smushed it.

Sadly, I don’t think it’s going to work out. She said “I can’t take you seriously, Chad” after our dinner. If I would have stuck to my guns and ordered a corona and a shot of dos dedos instead of trying to impress her by ordering the expensive drink I saw on the menu, things could have been different.

Friday drove down to Beaufort, SC to play Secession. Tee time was 2:00pm and the weather was fantastic. Nice breeze kept and bugs away and it wasn't too hot. Dinner was at Saltus River Grill. I had the scallops and it did not dissapoint.

Saturday got up and had breakfast buffet at the club. Tee time was 9:10 and the weather was just as nice. Got lunch at the club and then dinner was at Breakwater. The special was Halibut and it was outstanding.

Sunday drove home, caught my daughter's Lacrosse game (they won). Did some lawn work and relaxed the rest of the afternoon.

May 2, 2022, 8:57 AM

Friday, took half a day and ran a few errands. Ended up at Main Street Bottle Shop and sat down for a beer and picked up a few D8 seltzer drinks to try. Never seen them before but looks like the company is out of Charlotte.
https://d8seltzer.com/

Back to scoop up RH Mom and RH Sis and head to Vinny's Taste of Italy in Chester for Sis' birthday dinner. Fantastic Italian food, it's kind of unbelievable that the place is there but folks that know about it will drive for miles to eat there.

Saturday, a trip to the legendary Milestone Club in Charlotte for an afternoon acoustic matinee show. The three local(ish) artists were all good, but the crown jewel was getting to see Lee Bains III, a bucket list artist I've been chasing for 10 years and not managed to get to a show. He turned in an excellent set, the guy is an incredible songwriter and one of those 'how is he not a bigger draw' question marks. Back to RH, ran to Chicken Salad Chick for take-out, then downtown RH to see the LA Maybe. It was an 80s metal rockin' good time. They have some pretty solid original material and covered Warrant, GnR, AC/DC (that I can remember). Good LOUD rock and roll show.

Sunday, mostly lazy morning, visit RH Mom, grocery run, played bass for an hour or so while we had torrential rain, walked pup, Mrs. made pancakes so ate and fell into the Big Chair. Watched Fear The Walking Dead and then crashed.

May 2, 2022, 8:58 AM

Friday: saw daughter of play some scokker, came home, crashed

Saturday: up early, kids already did lawn work so I went around to the local farmer's market got some veggies and fruits. Came home, ate boiled peanuts and the first 'mater sammich of the year. Cooked pizza on the grill. The kids I mentioned last week who died, his funeral was Saturday and man it was way more upbeat that white people funerals I've been to.

Sunday: #### Chelsea. MOther's Day shopping and cooked omelettes, grits, home fries and biscuits last night. I went to bed at 9:40 and woke up with a straight drain pipe of acid reflux. Had jalapenos on my omelette. So I was up for good around 3:45.

May 2, 2022, 8:58 AM

Fri - watched Southern Cross high school tournament at Palmetto. Drank some beers. Watched moms in golf skirts and running shorts, etc. Good stuff.

Sat - Outback for FILs birthday, then back to their house for cake. Outback actually was decent.

Sun - up early to play golf with two of wife's bros, and her nephew at Aiken Golf Club. Bad golf but fun time. I just can't play that course for some reason. Drank a couple beers downtown, then went out to Palmetto with little one and son to hit balls and chip. Supper with them at Aiken Fish House, which was good.

That's about it.

May 2, 2022, 9:20 AM [ in reply to Unspectacular, which is not a bad thing ]

Was in New Orleans last week for our industry conference that happens every 2 yrs. Solid week work-wise and drank and ate too much.

Averaged 20k steps per day and I'm not a 20k steps per day kinda guy. Got home Thursday night and crashed hard.

Friday...worked and then dinner at Da Vinci's. Was actually really good.

Saturday...heavy lounging in the morning. Made a big grocery run to restock in afternoon. We moved to Anderson ~3.5 yrs ago and never fully unboxed everything in garage. Worked with wife-of to go through that stuff to clear out the area. Salmon, green beans, taters for dinner.

Sunday...slept in until 10am, which is unheard of for me. Was glorious. Worked more in garage. We made 4 trips to dump and 2 trips to Goodwill. May actually be able to get 2 cars in garage now. During my time in NO last week, I never had red beans and rice, which is one of my favorites there...so I made some myself for dinner. Perhaps my best batch ever. Used canned red beans, but otherwise made a legit batch.

Watched Ozark (spoiler: what a weak ending), watched Outlander (the writing is getting terrible in that show, but the sets are better), cleaned up my boat (it was NASTY), spent $125 to fill up the gas in my boat, sold a house for all cash that I only owned for 10 days, took my boat back to storage, had a few beers, and here I am.
