Appreciate the concern haha and yes I am doing that but also wanted other opinions so that's why I had the previous posts. This post is to settle an argument with my wife.

Not terribly relevant for you, but ~$85 per day in Brisbane.

Here in Brisbane Australia, day care costs roughly $85 per day. You might get as low as $60 for something you're not sure if your child should be in, but it's not unusual to see $120/day either.

But I imagine the cost of flying the kids here every day would negate the currency gains.

Is it worth the cost for the wife to be a stay-at-home mom for the kids?
The answer is yes. It's difficult to prove on a spreadsheet, but I guarantee it'll pay dividends the rest of their lives if you can afford for one of you to be available full-time for the kids for as long as you can make ends meet.

Way to throw our guy under the bus!
The kid needs a strong father figure, so it's best you stay home to discipline the child while your wife brings home the bacon.
It's up to you who cooks it.

My wife works at a preschool, both of my kids go there so obviously we don't pay full price. But, a regular parent pays about $550 a month per child. Where she use to work a newborn was $1000 a month and when they moved up to the toddler class it went down to $900 a month. My brother and his wife pay around $650 a month and some friends of ours pay $750 a month. My wife also had a home-daycare for a while and she got $550 a month per youngin.
