#1 & #2 things you think are priority correctable areas

Jan 2, 2021, 6:32 PM

Would like to hear your too priority areas that need to be improved by Clemson Football in 2021.

Mine
#1 Offensive Line has got to get stronger/tougher.
I want to know for certain Clemson will get the yards needed when it is 3rd and 2 or 4th and 2. Want the O Line to be able to push anyone

#2 Tackling - esp Solo tackling
Would like to see Clemson be the team with all players that can tackle anyone the very first time they meet/hit a ball carrier

What is on your improvement wish list?

Our best Tiger teams had a DOMINANT D-line and good O-line. 2016 and 2018 our D-Line could stuff the run and rush the passer all game long with 4 guys. Both of our lines were a liability this year.

The D-line was an upgrade from last year but very young especially with Foster and Thomas out or unavailable. I would expect a full offseason of conditioning and we will see a much more productive D-line next season.

O-line was a product of replacing 4 starters and starting guys that might have been backups other years. O-line should be better with experience next season but will not be a strength until the best recruits develop.

Safeties/corners need a lot of work. Good enough to win most of the games in the regular season but as we saw last night they are not ready for the big time....yet. Simmons covered up a lot of issues last season. Appreciate everything that Turner has given to Clemson over the last few years, but teams are not worried about him.

Db's could stand some improving (Couldn't cover anyone or, when they did, couldn't break up the pass). Also, getting XT and (hopefully) Justin Foster back at DE should really help the defense. Running backs are going to have to step up with ETN gone. Tight ends need to work on their blocking, too.

#1 Back side containment failures. This issue led to a lot of problems stopping the run.

#2. Failure to turn the game over to Lawrence. Down 21 in the fourth, we had a series where we ran the ball three times and punted.

#2) Defensive line has got to develop a more consistent pass rush. Against any of the better teams, the QB has had way too much time to look around and pick us apart. We got some help from Bresee and Murphy, now we need a couple more studs like them so that all four can be relentless getting to the QB.
