The problem is...

two people with 5 years experience at the same job could have a big disparity in salary. One could have been busting their butt and actually care about their work and job, and the other could just be doing the minimum and clocking at 8 and leaving at 5 no matter what was going on.
If that was the case for me... the difference would probably be about $85k vs $70k. Bonuses would also be skewed to the one that did more.

It simply requires a range, not the exact pay.***

Sounds great in theory. In practice, watch how workplace harmony nosedives if this stuff was public. Ignorance is bliss.

Without knowing the salary/comp package first, or at the very least discussing it in a first interview before getting to a second interview?

Amen to that! Even when it wasn’t, if you had any respect for yourself you wouldn’t spend the time to interview twice without making sure the numbers make sense. Even if you feel weird about money you could ask to check to make sure it makes sense fiscally to make that move.

Good call FBCoachSC® ... especially in the super-hot job market in many industries for people with even modest skills.
Also, when composing a response to a post, the TNet Subject line does not do the ##### censoring.
After you hit "Post Message" then the censoring mechanism is activated again.
