Ten Tigers projected in final seven-round mock draft

The NFL draft gets underway Thursday night at 8 p.m. with the first round in Nashville, where as many as three Tigers are projected selections.

That will only be the beginning of a busy week for former Tigers, as Bleacher Report predicts ten Clemson products will hear their name called over the three-day event.

The mock draft calls for a top-10 selection for All-American defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, at No. 9 to the Buffalo Bills.

"The Buffalo Bills find themselves in a spot with the top targets off the board, which might mean a trade back on draft night," B/R's Matt Miller writes. "Here, though, the Bills sit and select an impactful, high-floor, high-character defensive tackle who is an immediate starter in their defense.

"Christian Wilkins isn't an elite tester and didn't have flashy stats, but he was a three-year anchor for the Tigers defense and the leader of the room. With his motor, he's a Sean McDermott-type player, and his off-field value only adds to the package the Bills get at No. 9 overall."

Wilkins is joined in first round by fellow All-American defensive linemen Clelin Ferrell (No. 21 to Seahawks) and Dexter Lawrence (No. 28 to Los Angeles Chargers).

The lone projected day two selection is cornerback Trayvon Mullen, going locally to the Carolina Panthers (a would-be first ever Clemson draft pick for the franchise).

Day three picks would be defensive end Austin Bryant (fourth round; No. 128 to Dallas Cowboys), linebacker Tre Lamar (fifth round; No. 163 to Philadelphia Eagles), wide receiver Hunter Renfrow (fifth round; No. 165 to Dallas Cowboys), defensive tackle Albert Huggins (sixth round; No. 179 to Arizona Cardinals), cornerback Mark Fields (sixth round; No. 199 to Indianapols Colts) and offensive tackle Mitch Hyatt (seventh round; No. 249 to Arizona Cardinals).

Ten Clemson draft picks would tie a Clemson record. The event will air starting at 8 p.m. on ESPN, ABC and NFL Network on Thursday, 7 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday.
